Standard Ranger crank (7500 rpm limit, the one to have without the balancer shaft)

I Beam Steel Rods

12.5 CR Forged Pistons

Ported Low Port head assembled with new valves, new valve guides and springs

Piper 285 Cams

Modified Cam Chain Tensioner

Light Weight Steel Flywheel

Uprated 8.5 inch Organic Clutch

45mm Jenvey Throttle Bodies

Cam Cover

 

£4500.00 (cheap R500 power with more Torque 😬)

 

Cylinder Head is having a total refresh by Simon Armstrong at Ultimate Performance

He is also assembling the engine, with new cam chain, gaskets etc

Also BGH 5 Speed E8 Gear Box. Alloy case, Alloy lid, Drain plug, Filler plug in lid with dip stick, 2.66 - 1st and .86 - 5th. Only done 2000 miles and a great combination for the above £1500.00

You are right there Linds

The 2.3 Duratec is such a good engine, you can take it easy with the right foot and still move down the road quicker than most or put you foot down and hold on 😬

No wonder Caterham started putting them in the R500 and CSR

Mad Hatter - what sort of power, torque and revs do you think this new engine will make? You know DannyLT has already been down the 2.3L, 2.4L and finally 2.2L route and reckons the 2.2L was the best of the 3 variants.

 

I assume you putting your 2.4L in a superlight chassis?

Mike - Oh yes to a superlight chassis

The 2.4 made perfect sense with the C/head going on and you cant ignore a guy who was Mika's engine man at McLaren when he won both world titles

As to figures we dont know yet
