Bullitt
The last days I read very much about the secrets of K-series bleeding But I have still one question: What can I do if I still have air in the system? Is the only way to get the air out to drain all coolant and fill it again? Or can I open the screws and caps and let out the air by squeezing the hoses? davidvoas73
No need to drain and refill, just keep repeating the process ..... have fun! Never tried it myself, but I assume that you could get a garage to perform a coolant drain/refill - some outfits use pressuried systems to force out all air locks? elie boone
Garages use often a vacuum system to refill, Bullitt : it depends if you have a heater or not, do a search there is plenty of info on tech talk

Stationary M25 Traveller
The open part where you want the air to escape should be the highest place on the system. If this is the top of the radiator, you may want to lift the front of the car to help this. The real key to success is to fill the system so very slowly. Bullitt
The open part where you want the air to escape should be the highest place on the system. In my case the highest place is the bleed-T near the heater. But when I loose the cap of the T to let air out there comes coolant all the time - no air :-( What can I do? Lift the front and open the expansions bottle?
Bullitt
The level of the header tank changes a little bit when I shut down the engine. Is that normal? Or must the level always be the same with warm or cold engine?
Paul Deslandes
The trick with a 2 litre Vx was to jack the front up as high as possible and, with the engine running, undo the header tank cap ( with all the usual precautions). It also helped to undo the vent plug on the top of the rad. This invariably works on a Vx. - Make sure the heater tap is open. - The engine needs to be up to temperature for the thermostat to open. Something similar might work on a K. Edited to say that the header tank on the Vx was at the front of the car.
