Paul Gibb
I have a pair of nearly new de dion driveshafts with a damaged thread on the ofs (dont ask!). Can the damaged part be replaced? L7 FUN
Willie.
Don't know about replacement, I seem to remember Angus had trouble and had to buy a new shaft. I've fixed a few damaged threads on stubaxles etc before...using a needle file and thread file (In extreme cases). Most can be recovered. Running the correct sized die up it will be your best bet. If its just the end its not so bad as the nut isn't holding here as much. But if its badly damaged further in, where the nut grabs, unless it cleans up with good meat on the thread...ditch it. Willie

rj
Paul,  You could probably get new CV joints as those are Sierra items. /regin
Paul Gibb
Thx Regin , it does seem a shame to scrap the driveshaft with such localised damage. 😔 L7 FUN
Jason Plato
Speak to Redline - they may be able to refurb the driveshaft and or fit another section here is C7 TOP Taffia rear gunner
