alextangent
I'm looking for a combined ignition/starter switch; but I can't seem to find what I need, which I think is off/on/momentary switch. Anyone know what they're called, and who supplies? Aha; may have found one here on ebay. Are these any good? jonboylaw
Alex, Maplin or RS do them, single pole, single throw, push to make, momentary switches. See this thread here I have an RS account if you want me to order it. Getting a bit sophisticated now are we ? :) Jon ----------------------------------- Ital or Ford... the choice is yours.... Hmmm, I'll have the ford please Bob. Edited by - jonboylaw on 11 Mar 2008 23:49:12 Edited by - jonboylaw on 11 Mar 2008 23:58:
k80rum
For info Alex, I just ordered one of those Savage momentary switched to work as my new headlamp flash switch (I'm updating the dash at the moment). The Savage switch is of good quality. It'll work as a starter switch in the same way that a button would, but you'd need to seperately turn on the ignition first. Edited to add: I've used the rest of the Savage switch range on the dash, after seeing used and liking their look on the Caterham Levante v8 Darren E K80RUM Website and Emerald maps library Superlight R #54 Edited by - k80rum on 12 Mar 2008 07:38:
GTD
Demon Tweaks do the proper thing - has a red cover over it so that you can easily switch it off in an emergency and you are less likely to knock it. It is a two position switch so you can do away with the ignition key completely - mine was fitted like that from new. I'll see if I can find a link for you. GTD
Here is is If you search on Starter Switch there are one or two alternatives - this is the one I've used and been very happy with. Warning - no Caterham content here
alextangent
Jon, Darren, GTD Thanks for the info. The demon tweeks looks expensive but the right part. Now all I need is a proximity immobiliser, as I ripped the useless Vecta out of the loom at the end of last year.
