The Pikey
I think I need a minimum of 3 bar for the Hayabusa engine. Does the standard CC injection fuel pump get to this pressure? Jason Currently, I am qualified to plead ignorance. Edited by - jason fletcher on 26 Jan 2008 22:23:
Mark Durrant
Yes certainly 3 bar on the k series cars with the pressure set by a regulator on the fuel rail Mark D Comp Sec
Alex Wong1697456877
I would go for the so called JPE pump - mine maintains 3 bar without a prob.
rj
Up to at least 3 bar the ordinary pump is fine. But ... If your chassis is a "Duratec" chassis the tank may well have an internal fuel pressure regulator. I don't know the details though. /regin
The Pikey
Thanks for the replies. It looks like I can use what I've got and not spend the £500 as suggested by a "specialist" Jason Currently, I am qualified to plead ignorance.
timbo
you'll be fine on std pump.. I presume your running a power commander? I've a rolling road map for my std 1300 if you need it. Tho my base line F.P. may differ. BUSA POWWWER
The Pikey
Timbo power commander. As its been mentioned a couple of times I guess I will be once I find out what one is... What ECU are you using? Jason Currently, I am qualified to plead ignorance.
timbo
The power commander is a piggy back ECU.. either inj only, ign only or both depending on modules. I run the std busa bike ECU. I use the power commander to adjust fueling. It is a half way house approach to an emerald etc. Works the very best... can even add nice popping and banging on over run.. 😬 The power commander set up was done by Holeshot (Jack Frost) on his ro ro. I also used the std bike clocks. To correct speedo accuracy I use a speedo healer that converts the pickup on the prop flange. SVA pass no problem provided clocks have mph/kph. timbo
oh.. couple of things to do. Make sure you fit a manual timing chain tensionner - std hyd have been known to let go. Dump the pair valves & pipes that run above the exhaust ports - blanking off the vacuum on no.4. throttle body. If you do go the route of std bike ECU you will need a power commander to adjust fueling for SVA emission idle & fast idle tests.
