Rob Bailey
Has anyone had any sucess with a bike computer fixed to the rear wheel? Having problems with my local SVA test centre and this might be the solution! Thanks, Rob
Myles
What's wrong with the front? There is no reason why you can't fit one to the rear - it's just a bit easier (IMHO) to get access etc. at the front. Tom_C
For that matter there's no reason you shouldn't fit one to the prop shaft provided you account for the final drive ratio in setting the wheel size Cheers Tom FH54WLX - only the car supports ManU, honest! see here
chrisb
I went for the propshaft option. All was great until I came to configure the wheel size and discovered that the sigma doesn't accomodate wheel sizes under 1000mm circumference. Don't forget the reduction in the diff ❗ I have now gone for a proximity sensor system, which seems to work a treat* *Well its not actually been physically tested yet, but I have turned the rear wheel and seen movement on the speedo
Rob Bailey
It needs to be the rear as the SVA station can't test the front.. Chris b - What have you done? is it a bike computer job?
mav
It needs to be the rear as the SVA station can't test the front They are having a laugh. How do companies get cars though type approval if they can't test the front?
Rob Bailey
Yep, I think they are having a laugh the fellow is an officious little twerp (IMHO). But I need to get it passed in the next 14 days so I have to do what the 'twerp' wants....
The Polisher
I bonded the magnet to the drive shaft just to the side of the diff. and fitted the sender on a short arm connected to the vacant diff. mounting hole. Works a treat . Bonus is ....you can change wheels at will. Dave H. Mad about S77ENS
