Blackmamba
HelloI've booked the 8th Aug trackday at Anglesey, really looking forward to it as I've never driven the circuit since its revamp. Looks very scenic and hoping for decent weather in August!I didn't see any details of noise testing / limits on the booking form, does anyone know what the limits are and how they measure? My car is a bit noisy so I am going to do what I can to quieten it down before a few trackdays this year. Also wondered if anyone could recommend a decent hotel / B&B in the area as it's a long way from home so I will probably take a scenic drive up there on the weekend before trackday. Thanks
Ballast-ic
They do average noise sampling, so unless you are very noisy you should be OK. They don't do drive-by checking. Can't recommend anywhere to stay as I camp at the track. Fish supper from the Malltraeth Chippy washed down with a couple of cold ones while watching the sun set from the track - perfect.
Dannyboy
There are loads of nice places to stay on the island. Airbnb is a good start. Book soon as it will be tourist season and this year the island was very busy. Avoid Holyhead.. but the whole island is probably 30min from the circuit ish. Treaddur bay and that area are very popular but look also at Amlwch, Benllech or even Red Whaf bay. I live in Pentraeth and that's 25min from the cicuit, lots of campsites but no hotels here. Blackmamba
Air BnB is a good shout although I would prefer a hotel with a bar / restaurant so I don't have to worry about food etc. Will check out what there is on the island and good point to book early.Sounds like I might get away with noise there which is good news! SKC
We camped last year, got a good nights sleep. The cafe is open till about 9.30 - 10.00pm and the locals are very welcoming. Facilities are great, clean hot showers. Would definitely consider camping again here.RegardsSKC
mph
There's camping available at the actual circuit?
Blackmamba
If I understand camping correctly, it involves a tent in which case I'll pass thanks!
1360rallye
Last year the Taffia group (5 cars) stayed at Taldwrst Farmhouse - a great B&B. It had a bar and served dinner. About 15/20 mins from the track. Anglesey track was awesome - with great facilities in a lovely location.Andrew
