At last , my mesh headlamp grilles are of some use as well as looking classic , my headlamps are units ie one piece unit except bulbs which attach . 😬

Got it ! Took a while trying the different combinations of which way round the clips go into the headlamp unit and how exactly to get the mesh cover , the clips , the headlamp unit and the chrome strap to attach each other without dropping a clip or the nut from the strap. Essentially you have to put together the clips/unit and chrome strap first - right angle clip ends over the light unit , then put the whole lot onto the chrome bowl and tighten the nut ! Easy ! I've had a go at fitting the clips but decided to have a look at some pics on the computer of fitted ones before going any further , its a question of getting mesh as close and tight to the headlamp so they don't part company or get nicked by some mini enthusiast !! There's always Nick Potter ex caterham mid just up the road about 4 miles from me who will know ! Edited by - combine on 11 May 2013 18:25:41

Any idea how you fit the clips or rather which way round they go into the headlamps ?

So winding springs up will increase ground clearence ? Hopefully as I've just done this but it also makes for a harsher ride ?

Pops and bangs are still suposed to eminate from a Tb'd 7 aren't they , I've heared Tb'd 7's pop on start up and it can be dialled in ?

All the above comments by you lot are just how I feel about the carb/Tb thing , its a big wrench , in fact I sat on the s/h bits for a year dreading the change as loved those webbers , really difficult decision and its mad / expensive to go back after. God knows wether i've done the right thing , jury's out !

Have worn proper ear defenders for ages but would like to get some ear plugs that have a type of ring that hooks round your ear so they stay in , normal plugs just fall out or don't seem very efficient at stopping noise. Where do you get decent plugs that do the job properly and don't fall out ?

Er , ok she's instant power , a bit quiet' ish compared to carbs , strangely smooth driving which I find very different indeed , no petrol smell which is odd , haven't heared a pop or crackle yet which is sad , need to drive her at above 5k revs more to get the extra bhp now on tap. Anyone hark back to the carb era they miss ??

We were going south towards Stowe in a black z4mc and saw several groups of 7's going north to the kit show , flashed lights and waved !

With yellow stripe , nice classic example , at the Festival on saturday , the perfect 7 , looked an icon !

This morning , a red 7 coming towards us as we were going towards Matlock , didn't have a 7 in its grill area but sure it was a 7. We were in a black z4mc .
