Quoting Smiffy69:When I built mine I had an issue with my cycle wing indicators not working. They somehow were elctrically isolated from ground?
I Solved this by running a separate earth from the engine mounts back to the wing stay indicators.
They earth through the flexible brake hoses normally

The indicators and brake lights get their earth from under the nose cone and not the wiper mount so I'd give that a go.

Fitted a Stewart EWP in my BEC 7 a few years ago. It's a very well made item and worked perfectly. Since selling the car I had a gook look over a Prodrive works car and there was one fitted to that, although the did cover the name plate up with a piece of carbon

I think I paid Brize about 170 quid for mine. It's a million times better than the Powerlite unit I had.

the alternator I looked at at the kit car show was certainly a recon unit although the starter I looked was new.

Brize are the way forward. If you email them a photo they will supply the right one. Theirs are brilliant quality and are not reconditioned like I think Powerlite and Edge are.
thanks

I had a professional fit the armoufend to the rear arches. It then pealed off. I think this is because he used a weak Johnsons baby bath solution to put them on and when it's stretched around the tight curves I think the film needs all the sticky it can get. I then bought some and put it on myself with waterand it's a much more professional job and stayed in place.

We according to the stats there were 6077 Sierra's Taxed and 8010 went on SORN this year so there is still plenty to go at

I think Caterham used pattern CW&P for only a short period. They were crap so they went back to using second hand Ford parts. I have only seen one Pattern CW&P and it had deep wear after a very small amount of miles. On my current diff I have set the backlash to 2 thou and I am 100% sure this is the way to go because it's perfect. Like Sevenmad's diff mine was also bought from Ebay for a small amount of money and this is why I now have 11 of them under the bench at work

Like SM25T says it might be down to the airflow and mine is the same . I can sit stationary with the engine running and the oil temp can say 70 deg and when I start moving it will drop. The aly tank will cool on the outer surface where the sender is but the oil is taken from centre where it will be hotter.

Quoting Steve Wright:
Rotating the drive shafts manually from underneath the car reproduces the noise.
Are you saying with both wheels off the ground and when you turn one wheel it clunks? If so then something is defiantly wrong.

there are some pattern units that have turned up on the market over the last year or so. Although I did hear they were standard fit on new Caterhams they are of questionable quality and there has been instances where braking balance is effected and also leaking.
Personally I went for a pair of "new old stock" Unipart recon units I found I ebay and they are working perfectly. I paid about 90 quid for mine inc the carriers but I think that was a bit of a bargain. There is usually some on Ebay but make sure you get the right ones as there are a few different types. The part number assuming still readable is cast on the top of your callipers.

This looks like the one but you will need one that supports 260 bhp+
I'd call Rimier bros.

Looking at it I would say it's Rover not Ford.

The standard bolt from Caterham parts are blackened stainless steel. They are not on the CC website but if you speak to Darren he will sort them out.
