  1. There is no reason for this problem not to be resolved. I have fitted a Powerlite here starter and it works perfectly every time. These guys make their own high torque starters and used to supply Caterham for the K series. They know what they are talking about - suggest you give them a call and they will explain why you get a click - you do not need to rewire other than checking all connections are in good condition and your earth is sound.
  2. Sorry, no idea. suggest you talk to Raceparts and ask them if they can help. this is very common sender so info should be available. VDO also sell them - another port of call.
  3. They are a softer material for a reason i.e. the huge changes in temperature and thus the expansion/contraction of the nut+thread and seizing on etc. This is not unique to Rover.
  4. I have just fitted a Powerlite RAC430 starter to my K series 1.8VVC - excellent quality and fitted out of the box - no mods required other than removing the stud next to the engine block (Caterham fitted - with loctite) and replacing with a SHC bolt the same as the other 2. Flattened the terminal on end of the red battery power lead to starter. Bolts a bit fiddly with manifold in place - just check all threads clean and OK before fitting. I have 4 into 1 standard manifold. Now Starts every time - hot/cold short/long run. Pls let me know if you need any help.
