  4. I have used the ones mentioned by NedK and they work very well. JCC Race & Rally Design. look smart and you only see the letters.
  5. Buy a Powerlite RAC430 and you will not get any more clicks. My car is 1999 K VVC with 4 into 1 exhaust - all wiring is as original. Used to click all the time. Heat is the problem as it stops the current passing throught the windings. Worth a call to Powerlite who will explain all as they used to deal with Caterham.
  6. Thanks to all who have worked so hard to set up this website. Well done. http://www.lotus7.club/sites/all/libraries/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/thumbs_up.png

  8. Has anyone got a pair of 6x14 Caterham Minator minilites they no longer require? To fit 1999 S3 . With or without tyres. Many thanks any condition will do as long as true round! Edited by - ssheldon on 19 Jul 2014 09:22:56
  9. I had the click so fitted the powerlite and used all the original wiring. Works every time and not affected by heat. Good luck.
  10. I had the same problem with my 1.8VVC K so I put a restrictor in the IACV bypass pipe ( after consultation with Dave Andrews of K series fame). This is part of the std road car engine setup that runs things like Aircon so the when everything is switched on it does not stall when you come to the traffic lights! Obviously, the Caterham has no such extras running. It also helps with braking as my engine was still pulling against the brakes when I lifted off the throttle. I did not make any other adjustments other than check that the throttle was closing fully. Remember it will run slightly high when the engine and outside air temp are low at startup - i.e. slightly choked. I can email you more details if you want them.
  11. Pls can you email me a photo of Seat 1 and can I have first refusal. Thanks. Steve

    K Click

My apologies. You were right and I was clearly on the wrong track. Glad it is sorted.

The wiring is NOT the problem. Your starter is cooked. Call the guys at Powerlite and they will tell you why. Mine had the same problem - same age - I changed to a Powerlite and it has not missed a beat for the last 3 years - car used regularly through out the year. The heat kills the solenoid. I would like to know the outcome and if I am wrong!!

Just fit a proper starter motor - Powerlite - and you will not have heat problems. Yours is cooked! If it worked when new, it is nothing to do with the wiring.
  15. I fitted one a couple of years ago made for me by Hellier Motorsport - it works well. Email me if you need more details.

  17. A photo will only show that it is perfect! However, there are faint marks in the leather on the under side at about 25 past the hour and 15 past. There are 2 faint marks in the centre of the alloy frame between the bolt holes. I am sure it will not disgrace your car. Will email photo tomorrow Edited by - ssheldon on 8 Feb 2014 19:04:35
