  1. Halfords ❗ BOGOF 😬 MY 51VEN Give it some Welly
  2. Graham Same as Rob and your self. More than willing to be part of the team but running my own business prevents me taking the full roll on board. Things just would not happen. And thats not fair to the competitors. MY 51VEN Give it some Welly
  3. I use one of those "oily" ones. Always seems ok - Iridium coating like the Oakley sun glasses. Simon MY 51VEN Give it some Welly
  4. I have 19mm (it was a standard size apparantly) square bar spacers under my mountings. I did this last august after wiping out a dry sump on a cats eye. As DJ has said its not the conning tower that actually hits the bonet first its the Cam Belt cover. I had to alter the panels around the exhaust primaries. Things to note as I also had a set made for OAP were that although only seperated by one chassis number (both SLRs) the diagonals were in slightly different positions. His primaries came closer to the diagonal than my own. Steering column was close but not a problem. As sugested I then lowered the car back down. (A bit) 😬 However the main reason as far as I was concerned was to allow me to run at optimum chassis levels whilst increasing ground clearance. This definately worked as the old sump was unreadable The new sump was clean as a whistle untill LONGCROSS 😳 DJ will explain I'm sure. Anyway car handles fine. I have a pattern available or I can have them made for £5 / set plus postage. MY 51VEN Give it some Welly
  5. http://www.artemisian.com/TrackDays/2005_04_24_Lotus_7_Club_-_Llandow_Sprint_Practice_-_Timed_Session_1/_mg_7187.htm Sorry don't know how to do the link thingy MY 51VEN Give it some Welly
  6. Not sure Dave Waiting for regs. I called Anita today myself. I'll wait and see. Gambo is already confirmed in the road class? I've just finished removing the thermostat. What a b*****d of a job I did it once b4 on the old 1.8 without the rollers and the dry sump pump. But with them. I'm sure it would have been quicker to take the engine in and out. Extention on extention, magnetic extendy thingy, swearing, selotape (don't ask) Anyway 3 1/2 hrs later sorted. And yes i do have aclue just not 6 pairs of hands or hands able to fit throgh the throtle bodies. MY 51VEN Give it some Welly
  7. If anyone is interested in Joining me they are welcome to stay with me at home (if you can put up with the kids) Double header sprint on the 4th and 5th June run by the BARC Wales. Correct direction on the Saturday reversed on Sunday. they have 70 entries to date and can take 120 but are filling up fast. Let me know if you are interested. MY 51VEN Give it some Welly
  8. I thought I had stiffer track day set up. But Dave has the Sprint set up i think. However dave seems to run quite a few clicks less on the rear to me. About the same on the front. Now having never driven each others cars 🤔 But assume we are getting towards the same sort of hardness by using the damper adjustment would tend to infer that the trackday springs are softer. Either that or I like it Hard 😳 MY 51VEN Working out the maths involved for retractable wings.
  9. Dave - They were my big "darkies" 😬 I've just done some calcs having tried to sacle the actual sprint course length off the website picture. One lap = 1450m I reckon sprint = 2550m My sprint time = 77.03 Dave beat me by .04 sec = 1.3m Average speed = 119.2 kph or 74mph Brodie 74.69 122.9 kph 76.37 mph Now in search of wider ACB10 due to the excessive sidways nature of yesterdays action. Racing Quotes

Just noticed "mwoodham's" profile signature. I think its highly relevant given Sunday's events. "If everything's under control you're going too slow (Emmerson Fittipaldi)" 😬 I do hope the photo guys have a picture of my airbourne antics. What a cover photo for "LowFlying" that would make. Longcross

Chap walking down the street said to me " I bet that thing flies " 😬 Car all ok but where the new and un christened sump read Caterham it now reads " " Hoping to be closer where power isn't such a must. Who's got Pipercam's Number 🤔 MY 51VEN - R400 Give it some WELLY! Only if you have the ride height! New sump guard being manufactured.
  13. Hi Rob I normally run 8 cliks front and 10 at the rear. However at Llandow we ran 10 front 12 rear. Pembrey last weekend I ran 12 and 12. What was that word I kept using Dave - Phenommmmmennnanlllll The big difference and this is a big point I think. Entering the right hander "Esses" at Pembrey at about 6000 rpm 5th gear 3.6diff two up the back broke loose 😳 with the use of a Hefty boot. Great I thought but then she went a bit wider. I was on full arm lock at about 110mph. At one point i thought it was going to go. But I then just got the feeling it would'nt. But I was waiting for the Snap back the other way. This would happen on softer settings. It has 😬 However it just "rather sharply" set itself true. The darkies that were there the next lap were from 10m prior to the apex to approx 75m past. I would seriously never have held that with a soft set up. MY 51VEN - R400 Give it some WELLY! Only if you have the ride height! New sump guard being manufactured.
  14. Correct camber for both tyre types.
  15. Yep back to back. And not really trying on ACB's - Only one flying lap after heat cycles.

  20. Adrian I have experienced this problem but with my 7" Raceco. Lets just say that after Brands last year i have some winter welding to do. However there are 2 simple fixes. 1. Shorten the back end of the 4 -2 - 1 or the 4 - 1 so that the "can" moves forward and the tail pipe clears the rear wing. As pointed out by others the rear bracket can then be raised or a new one manufactured. 2. You could arrange to have a set of my engine mounting spacers which lift the engine by 20mm. Clears the bonnet by 5mm. (Provides a better angle to the propshaft actually). Lifts the exhaust and provides greater ground clearance. I supose you could then lower the car again. The results were proven this year at Brands. Whilst 2 up we didn't even ground at Paddock Hill. MY 51VEN - R400 Give it some WELLY! Only if you have the ride height! New sump guard being manufactured.
  21. Where can i park the van and trailer tonight whilst i kip in the back. At the track? Leaving home at 3pm Mobile 07970 062 583 MY 51VEN - R400 Give it some WELLY! Only if you have the ride height! New sump guard being manufactured.
  22. I know you guys have had a great year ❗ I've been reading the reports But where's the report on Devon. Weather? Second Mr. Jackson? Brodie's new car? Mark Durrant - 1st one week 5th the next (sounds like my consistency) It has been absolute hell not being there. Anyway I enjoyed Llandow and will be at Brands, Mallory and Silverston GP (You have to be able to play some times) 😬 I will be back next year but it looks like its prep time for the car due to the competitivness out there. Well done all. Thanks BB. See ya soon! Now lets have the gossip. MY 51VEN - R400 Give it some WELLY! Only if you have the ride height! New sump guard being manufactured.
  23. Warren are these the dampers and springs that had the adjustable platforms but were sold seperately to a desperate sort of soul in need of front end grip They would come in handy as a set of spares for someone. MY 51VEN - R400 Give it some WELLY!
  24. Obviously not arround for the sprints this year. So I'm way off the pace But MY 51VEN would be up for a test. So R400 available. Sounds really interesting. MY 51VEN - SLR Give it some WELLY!
