Be interested in tonneau if it fits 'S' seat headrests
  4. Thanks Paul, will go for a PVR.
  5. Banner finally given up, so can't make use of this sun Does antone know if Halfords do a battery of correct rating and size? Many thanks

Ref. tonneau, do the pockets suit tillets or standard S seats? Thanks Malcolm
  7. Anyone one heard of this stuff - meant to be the dogs wotsits in the lubricant world
  8. Joy of joys, engine appears to have escaped damage. No nasty sounds, and if anything is running sweeter - heartbeat back to normal, until the next Cat moment!!!
  9. Rob, Thanks for reply & other one on filter type. No oil loss from expansion tank. Am happy that oil change was done ok, filter seal was smeared before fitting. Although oil drained cold, all drain plugs removed, so think I got out what there was. It's unbelievable how much oil can come out of such a small breach in such a short time. Having done a Google, have found reference to oil seal blowouts caused by faulty pressure relief valve -don't even know where this is! Although I want to fill up & start, think I'll ignore the urge & chat to CC/Redline tomorrow. And yes I'm hoping for the best, but planning for the worst!! Malcolm
  10. Previous one from CC, but want to get one from Halfords today - can someone point me to the equivalent one I need. Many thanks
  11. Myles, Not a techky, and not understanding your point. It was from cold, so oil OT not reached. Have got OP gauge & usual behaviour is normal. Don't know what it read when incident happened, didn't look - had I done so may have stopped sooner, as guess it would be 0
  12. Thanks for responses - will cross eveything!!
  13. An odd one. Been going 15 mins at low speed behind 27mph observer!. At 'D' restricted point accelerated past, but nearside rear wheel slewed and spun - thought I had puncture. Managed to get past, and stopped in about 1/2 mile and had shock of seeing oil everywhere, inside and out, and dripping off rear tyre. Didn't know how much oil loss so got recovered. Having done detailed inspection found that oil filter seal was protruding, and on removal the seal is quite distorted at one point. For whatever reason assume oil loss from that there, but can't understand why. Changed filter about 3k ago, and know it was properly seated, and have had no leaks. Don't know if it's possible to get a pressure build up fo some reason, and it released at point of least resistance?. Have drained what was left of oil, and got about 1/2L out, so am thinking me crank may not be in great shape!. What should I do now? - fill it up, new filter and start - hoping for the best, or get it taken in for proper check up. Any advice would be much appreciated - not feeling great at the moment!!
  14. Unfortunately the real value of anything is what someone is prepared to pay for it. Hope you sell.
  15. Thanks for response Rob. Have just 'sorted' problem!. Still a bit of a mystery though. 1) Checked inertia switch, and in doing so, one of the wires came out from a connection I had made when isolating same a couple of years ago. 2) On ignition turn on the pump burst into its normal operation. 3) When engine turned over there was a metalic sounding noise just before starting - last time I heard similar sound was on an old MGB 30 years ago, with a 'sticky' starter motor. Haven't got a clue about fuel loss, but seems to have cleared. Car not used for a couple of weeks, so whether it's a venting issue, if there is such a thing, I don't know. So the confusion continues, but having had a Cat. for 10 years now, no change there!. At least I'm back on the road, but for how long is anyones guess!!! Malcolm
  16. Probably not perculiar to a CSR. Turn key, fuel pump starts, but makes a odd whirring noise, rather than usual energetic pumping sound. Nevertheless, press starter button and nothing!. Turn ignition on/off a few times, same sound, same result. There is however a strong smell of fuel at back, and a small seepage onto garage floor. I am a techno numpty, but am confused that if there is a fuel pump problem, why this prevents engine from at least turning over. Can the clever boys on here give a clue?
  17. Sorry, misunderstood title - expecting to see some pearls of wisdom 😬
  18. A lady at work has had the above as a lease purchase car from new. The lease period ends this Oct. and she hasn't a clue whether to trade in for new car, or settle balloon payment and sell privately. Don't know what the balloon value is, but have suggested it would be worth buying and selling as she is likely to be better off. Thought I'd post on here to see if anyone has any future interest in a good car for what will be a sensible figure,as it genuinely is a one careful lady owner car from new - I've been driven in it, and it wasn't my quickest experience!. It will have done approx £55k miles come Oct. Be happy to get further info./pics, if interested.
  19. A girlie!! - thought you needed a gentlemans area to drive a Cat?
  20. Couple of years old I think - good quality, with soft fleece lining in A1 condition. Was quite expensive, but can't remember how much now. Only selling because I'm too lazy to use, apart from about 3 times. £20 collected/reasonable blatting excuse distance - not really practicable to post. Am in East Grinstead. If interested please call - 07764 775114
