  1. My car is in Germany so it is at Hoffmann Rink. it is there at the moment, so close up photos aren’t possible. I will find out more when I collect it on Saturday. i remember the BMW Diff recall thread too. Of course, people using their car on track started seeing issues before the daisy pluckers like me...
  2. I built it myself. I got the kit in around April 2012. Maybe things have been done on the QT in a previous service and I never got informed. It will be interesting when I am back at the Dealer. attached (if everything works) are a few photos of offending pieces. Hopefully the brake line positioning looks ok. I think the positioning was defined quite clearly. But it doesn’t mean I did it right, either! and photos of the back of the diff and the hole positioning: I don’t See recessed bolt heads. blimey, it is hard editing this on an iPad.
  3. My radiator was recrimped two years ago. It didn’t survive much longer. I am really pleased to be getting rid of it. The replacement radiator took a while to arrive so I have another week to wait until I get the car back.
  4. Thank you for the info on the diff. In this case, I don’t need an estimate. The three part radiator is a crime against humanity and I was planning on replacing it soon. If it is covered by the guarantee I will be delighted, and if I need to pay, I am rid of the mess of the old one. Win win. the only thing on my mind is finding a local garage I can trust. I can do a lot myself, but I like having a pro check everything is ok from time to time.
  5. Whoops. Double post. I don’t seem to be allowed to delete the extra post...
  6. My car is in for a service (2012 self built Roadsport SV). I heard late last year during hibernation time that there are two things that need to be “fixed” on orders from head office, but I was not told what. When I took the car in, they said they would need to go and check the records for what needs to be done. The interesting (for me) thing is that there may be four things that need some work, so I am wondering if these overlap with Caterham’s info, or if some things are okay or already addressed: 1: Sticking brake calipers? 2: Routing of the brake line on top of the de Dion. 3: The Diff bracket for the BMW diff was a pig to install because the holes matched so ally and I have heard of stress cracks. If this is something that needs doing, I pity the poor souls who has to get those bolts out. 4: The bobbins quality three part radiator. They are definitely replacing this because it is leaking. But I don’t know if there has been a hush hush recall/replacement of these or not. It might be an expensive service, or it may be fine. I shall have to see. But I shall, for now, assume the worst.
  7. I am testing the difference between a comment and a reply....
  8. 1. when starting a new thread, you can put in a title, but cannot actually put any useful text in -hence the double post here. 2. Replies don't really need a Subject Line. 3. Try to reduce the amount of white text in the posts/between the posts to get the thread to link up and have some structure. 4. Put some links onto the other pages to find this area more easily. My iPad doesn't recognise www.lotus7.club at all, and there are no links at Blatchat or the lotussevenclub websites. 5. Keep your head up and ignore any posts saying the site is rubbish. You can see the effort that has been put in. It needs some tweaks here and there, but it is 90% of the way. Pip P.S. Change Save to Post.

    Booster seat?

We bought a go kart seat insert for my wife. She is happy without it as a passenger, but cannot reach the pedals for driving. We bought it on ebay, I think. Type go kart foam seat into google and check out the pictures. It is the seat with golfball sized scoops taken out of the back. I think it is made by a Company called Caliba (SRS)
  10. Quoting RS2000: Quoting pipnjones: My friend wrings 125mpg out of it quite easily on the Autobahn on the way home when it is dry and empty. Lovely. Wow that is economical!! German efficiency plus fat fingers. The record on the way home was 63 mpg once averaged over about 30 miles, mainly due to altitude differences I suspect.
  11. I know a friend (ahem) who drives a Mk 2 TT. His wife also has one. Very nice car, incidentally. Wonderful fuel economy from the diesel, 4WD, 0-60 in 7.6 seconds, I think, and very comfortable. My friend wrings 125mpg out of it quite easily on the Autobahn on the way home when it is dry and empty. Lovely.
  12. Driving round the inner ring. (I know who it was, he lives about 40km away). I just wanted to highlight the international nature of Caterham ownership. I was out in the Caterham this morning, but had changed cars for a trip into town, alas.
