    Xflow timing

    Oliver means back off to 12 degrees thereby reducing the entire advance by 2 degrees. I time my xflow to 35 degrees (max) at 5000 revs and suffer whatever advance tickover gives. To overcome any rough running at tickover I adjust the tick over to 1100 - 1200 rpm. Hope this explanation helps.

    Alternately - replace the nipples with new ones every so often.

    With the gear boxes I've stripped (non Caterham) you cannot remove the spigot shaft from the front. You need to strip the box completely and remove the shaft from within the box casing. Sorry for bringing you even more bad news. Good luck.

    I've been running drilled discs on ali hubs for over two years (and a few track days). No cracking - only disadvantage is they are slightly noisier than standard. *thumbup*

    If it's a 5 speed box make sure you remove the speedo drive first (Complete angle drive). I didn't and ripped the bugger off. Took a lot work to repair it! Philip. D. Owen
