  1. Hi Colin, Please let me know if Tim doesn't go for it. Cheers, Paul.
  2. In the end I went for a Walbro GSS242 190LPH pump from www.fuelpumpsonline.co.uk at £79 delivered, including filter etc. They were very helpful. Got two standard ones spare now Thanks for help
  3. I contacted Caterham, and they suggest that any car above R300 spec would be supplied with an uprated fuel pump. Sadly they are out of stock of them for at least another 2 weeks...and my car is ready for it now. There was a thread on pistonheads mentioning that Rimmer Bros do a pump for a Rover 200 turbo, and that it is the same pump. Would anyone happen to know please? I have nothing against other makes, but am trying to fit new parts of Caterham spec whenever possible.
  4. Thank you for all the info. The pump has now been positively identified as the original one supplied with a 2004 R400 K series. It was run for 3 years with a 226bhp 2.0 Duratec with no issues so it should hopefully have the capacity for my planned 210bhp. I am fitting a fuel regulator with gauge in line. I don't want to get to the rolling road to find that the pump is inadequate. We can either try the existing standard 1.4 k series pump, change it to the 2004 R400 one ( if any different) or fit a new uprated Caterham, DW or Walbro. As the car is a long-term project and most parts are new, would it be advisable to replace the pump with a new one anyway?
  5. Thanks Pendennis hope they get some stock soon...
  6. Thanks Pendennis, do you happen to know the CC part no of the upgraded one so that I can check it out on the Caterham web site please? I searched for the number you mentioned but nothing came up... Edited by - madmaninshed on 27 Jun 2012 17:46:22
  7. Hi, I am told that my standard k series fuel pump may not be man enough for a 2.0 R400 duratec (on standard plenum) conversion. I have a spare fuel pump that was very kindly given to me by someone who upgraded from a 2.0 to a 2.3 duratec a few years ago. The numbers on the pump are: 0642 on the plastic end section near the connectors, and 6443327 and C0514-1 on the metal body of the pump. I did ask Caterham if they recognized it, but they were unable to help. From memory it was described as an R400 pump (unsure if k or duratec). I can send pictures, and would be very grateful if anyone can identify it please? Thanks for any help. Cheers, Paul.

  11. hi Paul, Sorry - have sent details but they have not come through for some reason. I received your BM and replied. Could you BM me an e-mail address please? Thanks, Paul.
  12. Thanks for so much interest - having difficulty replying to all the e-mails. So far the kite buggy is sold. Details of the MR2, kitesurf kit and unicycle have now been e-mailed to several people with my son's contact number. I will post on here if other items sell, as soon as I hear. Cheers, Paul.

  14. hi Peter, thanks for interest. I will find out more about it for you. All i know is that he could ride it off road and would often juggle with batons as he rode it round the garden ....he's a lift engineer and I think they are wired differently
  15. Hi Neil, MR2 is black, 1991 2.0 normally aspirated, induction kit, crystal clear lights, alloys, 6 spare wheels and tyres, £1150. Unfitted body kit ( front and side skirts) extra £250 if required. It is in Worthing. Kind regards, Paul.
  16. My son is emigrating, and we have an attic full of toys: RRD kites and board, 3 surf boards (long medium and ultra-light short), off road unicycle (like a mountain bike but only one wheel), 3 wheel stainless steel kite buggy, power kite, wake board (needing a new binding), very smart looking Toyota MR2 for around £1200 etc...etc... Please drop me a line if anything could be of interest, and i'll get more detail. Prices will be very reasonable as he goes soon.
  17. Thanks John, I spoke to Steve G, and he said to use BR7EFS with 37 thou gap. I think I may have got the part number wrong before, and somehow added a P in there. I found some on ebay....cheap as chips!! £10.66 for four inc delivery - even they weren't the cheapest, but some were new plugs but in shop soiled boxes, and I didn't want to get ones that had been in a flood.
  18. Hi Mad Hatter, I thought those were the standard NGK's.... The two different plugs that I have read about are NGK BPR 7EFS and NGK TR6 AP13 but I'm unsure what the difference is 😳
  19. Hi, Are the TR6AP-13 plugs listed by CC for the duratec good plugs for a mainly road going 210BHP R4oo spec engine please?
  20. Brand new unused clutch cable (bought as a spare) part no 72610 for Rover and Vauxhall engined cars RHD pre 1994 or for live axle post 1995. £25.80 from CC. Asking £18 plus carriage please.
  21. Hi, I am looking for a small milling machine suitable for producing small aluminium components. This is to replace one that my engineer friend has, that is not quite powerful enough to produce the parts we need. Our budget is fairly limited, and an old'ish machine will probably fit the bill. We could also do with a basic lathe. Thanks, Paul.
