At least I know now what it's for. However, as to my second question. Do I need it as I have an Apollo tank. I would have thought that the apollo was much more efficient, therefore dispensing with the need for foam baffle. Am I correct in assuming this???????????????????? Still Shaking.

From reading up on this, it seems to be the cause of some serious damage to peoples engines. What is it there for??????? It's been suggested to me, that as I have an Apollo tank, I really don't need it, and would be better off removing it altogether, before possible damage occurs from blocked pickup pipe. Anybody else removed theirs. Anybody know what it does? Oz (1600 supersport by the way) Still Shaking.

Norman. Thanks for reply. How come it says in 7faq that you can jack under the cruciform? Also, do you mean actually place the jack on the towing eye. Won't this crush it? Oz Still Shaking.

Recently replaced knackered rad with new ali one. I seem to have a leak from the temp sensor fitting. Had to use old copper washer, as CC didn't have a new one. I suspect this is why it is leaking. Should I use some form of sealant around the threads to stop leak, and if so, any suggestions what type. Would PTFE tape work in hot situation???????? Oz Still Shaking.

I need to get the front of the car in the air to do a bit of decorating, so obviously don't want the axle stands in the way. I assume I can jack up the car under the cruciform where the six chassis tubes meet in the middle, but any idea where I can place the stands out of the way, while I'm working under the front. Oz Still Shaking.

Bit of enlightenment required please. Back wheels are off the car at the moment, so I was just having a look at the rear calipers, and can't quite see how the pads come out. Every other caliper I've ever seen, has had the normal spring clips and retaining pins. Remove these and slide the pads out. Simple! Not sure how these come out though. Car is 1997 de-dion, with what looks like standard setup. How do they come out, and how do I identify pad/caliper type? Thanks in advance. Oz. Still Shaking.

Car is kept in one of those hideous concrete garages, which has gaps everywhere. Took some advice on here and bought a dehumidifier, which does seem to draw a lot of vapour out. However, working on the car today, I noticed condensation under the wheel arches, which makes me wonder where else it is forming? Should I also have a heater in the garage, or would this make the problem worse. I'm not sure I should try and seal all the gaps (probably impossible anyway, due to the state of it), as I would have thought that you do need some ventilation to keep the air moving around. Would a heater or fan help? Would appreciate input from anybody in similar situation. Oz. Still Shaking.

Thanks for the replys Guy's. The reason why I need to put the stands elsewhere, is I've noticed a few spots of the dreaded rust around the A frame mounts, so I'm rubbing it back ready for the POR 15. Actually, while I'm here, another question. Has anyone ever painted the base of the fuel tank, or would this peel eventually and look naff. Should I just polish it instead, so it's nice and shiny? Still Shaking.

I need to move my axle stands from the normal position you place them, to get to that area. Is it ok to place them under the DD tube about 2ft apart ? I don't want to risk any damage. Still Shaking.

More help required please. I assume the best place to put a trolley jack, is under the part of what looks like the A frame. The top of the A if you like, which is connected to the large section of the De Dion tube. Problem is my trolley jack doesn't go low enough to get under this. Is it ok to lift under the Diff? I want to get the car on Axle stands and remove both rear wheels. Anybody else had this problem. Oz. Still Shaking.

Engine is 1600K supersport. I'll check the Jubilee clips when I get home, although it sounded more as if it was coming from inside the pipe. Let you know later. Oz. Still Shaking.

Drove the car today, and noticed that the exhaust is making a tinny rattling sound. Is this something to worry about? The pipe is only 4 months old, fitted at CC in September. Standard 4-1 arrangement. Still Shaking.
