  1. Thanks Myles I'll have to have another play with it tomorrow night. I live 10 miles away from the car at the moment so I can't go till then 🙆🏻 I'm now hoping I may have adjustable runners already as I have the lever under the seat. Will have to try "clearing the crud" and a few other things to see if it shows any sign of moving.
  2. I've just bought my first 7 and it's got a tillet seat on the driver's side that doesn't appear to be adjustable. The previous over was a good 3" taller than me so the driving position is less than ideal. I thought the easy solution would be to buy some adjustable runners from Caterham and fit those. I emailed Caterham and they say adjustable runners will set me back over £60 with VAT and P+P 😳 So can I adjust the seat without buying these? I'm worried that if I move the seat forward and fix it there, the side of the seat will be too close to the side of the car to allow me to turn the metal part (sorry, I'm not good at technical names) that needs turning to lengthen the harness. The seat does have the lever underneath it for adjusting the seat but moving it seams to have no effect. I presume this is part of the seat not the runners and, therefore, will be there on all seats whether adjustable or not, and that I'm not doing something wrong and the seat is actually adjustable. Please keep any responses fairly simple - I'm a complete mechanical dunce Thanks
  3. It's easy when you've got a really old computer as it runs really slowly
  4. Yes you can get a side impact bar for the roadsport cage. Only problem is you won't be able to open the door or use the hood with it in place. Therefore, I don't bother with a side impact bar on my roadsport cage. I mainly use the car on the road with just the occasional track day. If I had more of a track bias in my use of the car I would possibly have kept it on.
  5. Unfortunately not Graeme. Funds won't stretch that far. Just the road and trackdays. That'll be plenty to keep me happy anyway 😬
  6. I don't know if it has been sold yet but there is a photo and more info on it here
  7. I think I know which one you're going to look at. Should be very similar to mine. I don't think there are too many pitfalls so long as you know its history. Not sorted the Tillet yet mainly due to not having it under cover yet or having any tools. I've searched the Tech Talk archives and it looks like a common problem so I have a few ideas to try out.
  8. I shouldn't have admitted that should I 😳 There's no fun whatsoever to be had from driving it but it gets me from A to B cheaply enough to leave me with enough money for the 7. That makes it one seriously good car in my book
  9. Gareth, I'm in Middlewich. In the same boat, driven the Cat and Fiddle quite a bit in my Corsa 😳 and I dare say it's about to become one of my favourite haunts in the 7. I can't wait to try it or the Congleton to Buxton road. Does tend to get a bit icy up there though ☹️
  10. Pretty happy ❗ Me 🤔 More like 😬 😬 😬 😬 😬 😬 😬 😬 Good luck in your search Gareth. I enquired about the car on Pistonheads a bit back when advertised on here and it sounded really good (although I'd rather have mine!). It took me about 4 months and several disappointments to find the right car but it is well worth the wait.
  11. I've sold the latest 3 (2000, 2001, 2002) to Charlie as he came to collect them. Still got 3 left: 1997 - last year of the Vauxhalls and 1.4 K series 1998 - first year of Superlights and 1.6 Roadsports 1999 - year with a great battle for the Roadsport championship £11 each or £30 the lot
  12. That is unless you live abroad (does Oz relate to your name or country?) in which case the postage will go up!
  13. I'd rather sell them together as it saves a lot of hassle but if they're not sold in a week you can take your pick at £11 each.
  14. I never watch these anymore so thought I may as well raise a bit of cash for my 7. Caterham Racing highlight videos for the 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2002 seasons. These videos are each 3 hours long and are all in perfect condition (apart from a tear to the plastic cover on one of the boxes). The best racing you will see on your telly. Caterham would charge over £100 for these inc VAT and delivery. You can have them all for £55 inc. delivery.
  15. I think Caterham used to quote 0-60 in 6.7 seconds and max speed of about 110mph. As for upgrading people seem to think it's pretty much a dead end apart from Caterham's own supersprint upgrade to a 1.8 (see here) I'm sure somebody with far more knowledge than me on this will be along in a minute.
  16. Still sevenless I'm afraid If anyone has a car that fits the bill please contact me. I may even be able to stretch the budget a bit if necessary 😬
  17. Went to see him in Nottingham a few weeks ago *thumbup* *thumbup* 😬 😬 I would never have thought that stand-up comedy in a stadium could work but he proved me very wrong.
  18. Still waiting for the right car. BTTT *arrowup*
  19. Rhubarb Good plan. I've got to find myself a 7 first though. That takes up a fair bit of time trawling for sale ads etc. Once I have my car I'll be able to fill the "searching for car" time with "what should I do with the ccar next" time 😬 Chris Substitute tea for coffee and that all sounds very familiar at the moment
  20. Decided to ask my boss if he had anything he wanted me to do. He gave me some stuff so I thought I'd have look on here. It doesn't make any difference whether I have work or not - I always end up in the same place. I can always find time for Blatchat. Any ideas for when I've ploughed my way through this pile?
  21. Having a really quiet day at work. Everything seems to have slowed down for Christmas already. What do you lot get up to when you're at work but not working? (Apart from Blatchat obviously)
