  1. That's a brilliant programme. Pleased as punch to see Silverstone, Donington and Oulton lined up. Well done James and Dave.
  2. I suspect this month's evo magazine tells us what BAC were doing at Anglesey the day before our trackday.
  3. Virtually none, the seat's resting on the side skin, which is why it's going to be a pain to get anything in between.

    Noisy tillet

Having finally got around to moving the seat back on my car I've discovered that it makes horrendous squeaks against the side panel. A previous owner had fixed the problem one notch further forward with some black cloth sticky tape stuck to the side which presumably stopped or absorbed any movement (and explains why it was such a struggle to shift the seat backwards). After a quick look around Halfords I'm struggling to work out what sort of tape this was, anyone got any brilliant ideas? Ive also got a bad feeling I'm going to have to lift the seat out to drop it back onto the tape rather than being able to slide it back over cos it's so tight, but so be it I guess.
  5. And yours. Hope we found a suitable pace. Great trip all round, although coming back today from Llanberis was a bit on the damp side.
  6. Lunchtime is as precise as the planning has got as yet, but maybe 1.30ish. I'll be getting the maps out in the next couple days to try and get the route a bit more concrete. All weather dependent though.
  7. Is anyone planning to blat up through Wales on Thursday? My plan is lunch in Hay on Wye (after a couple hours in the bookshops) then head a little west before north on an old Fish and Chip run route.
  8. Maybe I've built too many IKEA products, but that looks a massive improvement to me; to the point that I almost feel like I could be brave enough to give it a go. If only I had the confidence that, like IKEA, you'd always get the right number of bits and that they would slot together properly. But that's a bit mealy mouthed, it's a big step forwards.
  9. Cheque in the post, B&B booked on Anglesey for the Thursday night, and a hotel in Llanberis for Friday. Should allow time for a good run thru Wales in both directions.
  10. Gutted that I missed Springsteen this year. Was the preconcert traffic as bad this time?
  11. My "hasn't" was supposed to be "hadn't", so I have found the knob.Just need to find enough space now to see whether it works!
  12. Brilliant Nigel, I hasn't identified the knob on the tunnel. Mike
  13. Thanks Nigel, That may make sense in that it could be the grip/slip setting (1-8 in the article on a prototype) that the display is showing. Just need to work out how to scroll through them. I'll try pressing some buttons!
  14. Hi guys, I've just bought a R500 D, which seems to have launch control, but I can't find any instructions for it anywhere. It's got the button (left side of steering wheel above the two stack buttons) but it's also got an additional display, to the left of the group of buttons, which looks like an additional round button but illuminates with a blue 1 when the ignition is on. Is this for the launch control? I'm told it might be for traction control, but I didn't think there ever was such a thing. The car is manual, but it just occurs to me that it's the sort of display you might have for a sequential gearbox, anyone know? Thanks
  15. Hi, I'm in the process of buying a Duratec R500 and negotiating separately for a carbon track day air box as an addition to the carbon airbox it's currently fitted with. It looks to me like it's got the standard Caterham short exhaust on it (no cat). I'm aware that my choice of track days may be limited, but with that set up any ideas which tracks I should be able to get on without further mods? Thanks guys
  16. Looks like £60 plus postage for a pair of seat runners. Not sure I consider it an upgrade (adds weight!). Checking out Volvo booster seats instead on ebay. Might be a cheaper and more simple option.
  17. And to anticipate the first question, the answer is tillets!
  18. I tried my 10 year old in my 7 last night, and although he's tall enough not to need a booster seat I can't get the harness straps tight enough to fit him. My first thought was to move the seat forward but I was surprised to discover that the passenger seat isn't on sliders but bolted in place, so I guess my choice is either to remount it or to line the seat with something to fill him out a bit, but would worry about the safety of not doing it with something proper. Any suggestions?
  19. That'll be me, filling up with petrol and cash for a trip to Bedford Autodrome tomorrow!
  20. Spotted them too. Think they're quite near neighbours but not connected yet
  21. I was driving in as you were driving out today. Pleased to see I'm not the only one stingy enough to buy supermarket super unleaded.
  22. Thanks Nigel (sorry, I haven't checked back here the last couple days). I'll hopefully be able to have a fiddle with it next week.
  23. You mean presumably the black square bit of plastic that clips the cable just below the roller barrels? Feel a bit of an idiot because I was planning to remove the cable and twist that rather than twisting the holder..duh! I'm sure you're right about the bracing Jonathan, but doesn't apply here as it's a sudden change. I have found that, once started, the only way of managing a kangaroo is getting right out of the throttle and starting again rather than any modulation. ETA Having checked the assembly guide now I can see it is the black square bit I need to adjust, will give it a go later.
  24. Good question, which I'm struggling to answer, so I suspect not by much. When I first got in it after the change I thought it had moved a bit (downwards?) but it's still okay for heel and toe, so not by much, and I'm not trusting my recall. And onviously I have adjusted to it now if there was a change.
