  1. Thanks Rob, Shaun, Mark for your replies.
  2. Thanks Shaun, i see they come with a cover and a wheeled bag is extra. Are the wheeled bags useful ? Any tips on how to carry the awning to events ? Can it be carried on a minno trailer ?
  3. Thanks Richard and Dan for your replies. I have a few months before next season so will keep a watch out and maybe review the budget.
  4. I am thinking of buying a 3mx3m awning for next season and have been looking at the Rock Awnings Rhino Hex45 Does anyone use a Rock awning or can provide any fedback on them or something similar? Also, do i need to buy cast iron weights or something to hold it down? Any comments appreciated, Thanks
  5. This looks like a Caterham running at 2018 sprint at Motofest
  6. A garage space for me please Chris, thanks Clive
  7. Great run David, especially after your issues on the day.
  8. I do the odd track day and compete in sprints and hillclimb events . I have noticed other Rover K cars with oil catch tanks fitted. I have had a trawl through the archives and could not find anything definitive for fitting one. I have an apollo fitted and a wet sump. There are mumblings in previous threads about having a cleaner 'bang' from not recirculating oil fumes, something about oil seals and pressure and oil surge but no clear explanation of benefits.
  9. Rover 1.8K, Wet sump, Standard plastic inlet plenum 1) What are the benefits or disadvantages of fitting an oil catch tank rather than the standard arrangement of oil mist being recirculated ? 2) What is the set up/connections for installing a catch tank on a Rover K series with plastic inlet plenum?
  10. Thanks Chris for the clarification
  11. Does this relate to modified cars only ? I thought in Road going classes Harnesses didn't need to be in date and may therefore be older and not carry a FIA hologram ?
  12. The terminals on the Wosp are further away than my Magnetron was. The original cables may have been made to exactly the correct length for the Magnetron. I think the cable needs to go over the top of the starter motor as the terminal is at the back on the engine side.
  13. Hi Stu Yes solenoid underneath is that correct ? The terminal is a bit too much of a stretch for the existing cable, As my car has a cut off switch which I understand extends cable length i was thinking using slightly bigger cable might be a good thing and offset length.
  14. I am in the process of fitting a new starter motor and at the same time have decided to renew the two cables between the starter motor / battery / cut off switch as well as the earth cable to the starter motor. I also need a slightly longer starter motor cable (15cm longer than existing). The cables are 20mm cross section at the moment and wonder if there is benefit in using 25mm cable. Are there advantages and disadvantages of using 25mm rather than 20mm cable ?
  15. Many thanks for all the replies. I took the calipers off yesterday after putting a few layers of cling film on the master cylinder, rubber glove fingers over the brake pipes and a rod to keep the brake pedal down and no fluid has come out .
  16. I need to remove both front brake calipers for over a week whilst they are serviced. What is best way to stop the brake fluid running out and getting air in the system when removing the calipers and whilst they are off for a week ?
  17. Has anyone fitted these recently (i believe they are now an updated version) and can provide feedback on a) fitting, eg. Are additional brackets needed, b) performance of rear brakes post fitting c) fitting of new handbrake cables d) performance of handbrake e) what pads chosen and why e) any other comments thanks

Does anyone know if you can leave your car and trailer in the paddock the evening before the sprint ?
  19. Thanks Chris for all your work this year, also thanks to everyone else who helped and my fellow competitors for the competition and banter. Congratulations to Jeremy, all the Class winners and everyone who improved their times. Roll on 2018 and a new challenge in Class
  20. I have emailed LDMC this morning with my concerns and questions and would suggest others to do the same if they have any. It is late to make such a change and I already have a large financial commitment to the event, accommodation/ trackday etc. if i withdraw. Change to sprint format - no timing / no practice / build up to timed runs, British Sprint Championship - Are they planning on running a session for them or will they have practice as normal, Potential for accidents / Sprinting is not racing, increased danger and who covering costs, Objective is to have more runs - how many planned , Impact of warm tyres and fuel, The detail - Group selection, change tyres before /after, red / yellow flags, exit / entry on to circuit.
