  1. Thanks Justin, Rob and others for all your work on this. Given Saturday's wind forecast (23 gusting 35 mph) in addition to the rain, the garages will be welcome!

  2. I'm guessing you don't have a dry sump oil pan to trial fit? Your fettling appears to be close to the head bolt fitting.

I thought the new oil rail casting I obtained looked a real casting mess and a bit dubious, so I elected to retain the original oil rail in my VHPD  I'm rebuilding. Also saved having to slice a chunk off to fit the oil pan.

  3. Were the previous class records set in the wet, or has there been a change to the track layout or surface? Everyone, bar two competitors, beat the existing class records. This has a profound effect on the scoring in the Novice, Ladies and Veterans championships.

  4. I've used the Rally Design ones mentioned above. They only require a minimum of turning to get them to fit (also found slight variation in the size of the nut sleeve so some will fit unmodified). I've never had any issues with corrosion.

  5. Justin, not directly answering your question, but if you are successful in getting a garage, please add myself and Sam (shared car), thanks.

Edit #5 Philip, this is for rounds 15 and 16 on the weekend 2/3rd October.

  6. Just dragged mine out from under the work bench where it's resided for several years. Luckily I bought a set of O rings when OBNS was selling them. Hopefully, I can get it apart and fixed.

  7. Buy plastic gasket scraper; I prefer to avoid metal blades on aluminium flanges, as they are easily damaged. You'll find carb cleaner will dissolve both RTV and anaerobic flange sealants, prior to scraping.

  8. I'm looking for a competitor at the May Curborough event, who lives in the Bedford area, willing to pick up a K scavenge pump from another club member and bring along on the day for me, please?

    Thanks

  9. "If I'm honest the new rear skin isn't quite as nicely fitted as the original"

My 1994 car is on its 3rd set of front panel skins (all replaced at Arch) and the fit of the current set is no where as good as the first set, but significantly better than the second set. Quite a lot of variation, but done by hand, so I suppose to be expected.

  10. CC tell me that they only ever supplied this engine mount in their dry sump kit for all Rover engines

    https://caterhamparts.co.uk/engine-mounts/1487-engine-mounting-bracket-rh-rover-dry-sump.html?search_query=Rover+dry+sump&results=293

The VVC non dry sump RHS engine mount is modified to allow for a taller engine. Will the 'one size fits all' in the link above suit a VVC dry sump installation, or require modification to the height?

    Thanks

    Malcolm
