  1. Well, I've been in touch with Southwater and am tempted to go for the course on the 19th of next month - there's one this weekend but I've got OU coursework due next week Before I go ahead, would you recommend them? And have another BTTT on me Laurence
  2. It is 😬 and has been back to the Gribble and Goodwood but I've missed on the last couple area meets. Been somewhat wary of the prospect of rain I take it Southwater is geared towards tuition? Are you a member of any of the local kayaking clubs? I noticed there's an Arun Canoe club but haven't found much information online. Laurence
  3. So where did you go to do your course, Phil? I've been thinking about joining a club or similar for a while. I did a little kayaking while I was at school but nothing serious. Laurence
  4. Morning Norm ... Norm ... Norm ... Norm... What is that? ... that ... that? ... that? ... /me sniggers to self while flicking tape recorder buttons behind back Laurence
  5. Looking for fibreglass ones. Have put £400 aside. Laurence
  6. Yes, it's possible. Is it worth it, I don't know. My car is a '94 live axle and has been converted to full upper wishbone and lower spherical joints but I didn't go wide track. I didn't do the work myself, Chris at the Seven Workshop did it for me so I don't know whether Arch did anything to the chassis to make the lower wishbone fit. You'll need a bolt on bracket fitted for the full upper wishbone. Laurence
  7. Hmmm. Sat next to me I've got a Bilstein that came off the front of my live axle car. It has a 32mm bush in either end. When I replaced the Bilsteins I made up a pair of 32mm spacers to match. I have in turn had to space these out with washers. N.B. My chassis has lower wishbones with spherical joints but the Bilsteins were on the car when it still had trunnions. I imagine 36mm bushes would fit my car as it now is. Caterham supplied my old dampers with a 32mm bush to fit a live axle Academy car. Have you measured the wishbone? If it's 36mm then it's probably just the rubber bush sticking. Give it a shove. I also have a wide track front shock off of a customers De Dion car. It has 36mm bushes in either end. Curiosity got the better of me and I pushed the bushes out of both dampers. They are quite different so ignore my earlier suggestion to swap the bushes. my flickr! 8. What year is your car and is it standard or narrow track? And how long are your shocks at ride height or, to put it another way, by how much do they compress? my flickr! Edited by - Peardrop on 3 Jun 2009 21:32:03
  9. Are you coming to the area meet next week Fletch? I can give you a lift if you can get up this way. my flickr!
  10. Look like caterham supplied Billies with adjustable platforms from the picture. Standard track should be 319mm long depending on year so you're not too short. As SM25T says, there should be more circlip grooves under the threaded sleeve. Move it up a groove or two and you'll be fine. my flickr!

  12. That is the one you want. You will also need the metal bush that fits inside or, alternatively, you will need to turn the 36mm metal bush you already have down to 32mm. We normally push them together by hand but you might need a press to push out the one already in your shock. my flickr!
  13. Sounds reasonable. Chris at the 7 workshop converted mine from trunnion to ball joint and I found he'd packed the wishbone end out with washers. I had two pairs of shocks in my hands this afternoon, my old ones with the 32mm bush and a set of wide track ones with the 36mm bush. Didn't think to look at the time but is there a 36mm bush in both ends of the shock? I'll check when I get back in in the morning. my flickr!
  14. That's subjective. Don't angle grind the bush. Have CC send you the 32mm rubber bush and find a kindly machine shop who'll press the old one out and turn the metal spacer down for you. my flickr!
  15. Not easily. We had to drill a hole in the bottom to depressurize a set of Bilstein shocks we converted. These weren't identical to the Caterham items though. You may be able to send them back to Bilstein but I would hazard a guess that it wouldn't be worth it. So many people have upgraded to other shocks that you can pick up a complete set second hand for £50 to NtL. my flickr! Edited by - Peardrop on 1 Jun 2009 22:02:59
  16. Very nice. If the Seven didn't already occupy the garage ... my flickr!

  19. I bought a friend's son one of these CDs for Christmas. Went down very well with mum and son. His dad is into Northern Soul and was less impressed. Which made it even better Not that I enjoy making a nuisance of myself, you understand! my flickr!
  20. Mark, sound like there's room for some competitors to gain an advantage then my flickr!

  22. Oh ☹️ I think I might have to put it on eBay. I wish I had a big shed. We use to have a big shed. I could hide the Landie in a big shed. ... Anyone mind if I keep the Landie in the shed? my flickr!
