  1. Great idea but........ It states at the top of this page Lotus Seven Club so how many Lotus Elises will be in the 21 class? it's the same differnce isn't it? Why not just get rid of all the Lotus references and rename the club the Caterham Drivers Club....... or has that been taken already? Kev
  2. I'm not sure what you mean by "manifold" Do you have only one combined scavenge to the top of the tank? Anyway, all the hose ends are 7/8th or -10 JIC except the gravity feed to the pump which is 1 1/16th" or -12 JIC The 160 degree end is indeed to clear the thermostat hoses ThinkAuto already know the contents of the kit, just ask for it. Kev
  3. Can someone point me to the Supplementary Regs for this event as the link on the entry form seems to be incorrect. Kev
  4. Some of the race teams still have spare rims if you're desperate...... or you could always borrow a wheel from a friend
  5. To my mind A Supersport is an engine spec A Superlight is a limited edition car with a numbered dash plaque and nice extras A Superlight R or an SLR is the precursor to the Superlight R400 Kev
  6. Thanks very much David that clarifies things quite a bit. I had assumed however that the classes were restructured to give closer competition and encourage newcomers. Has there ever been a novice in Class 6? I suspect not. We have a situation where existing road legal cars (I presume they competed this year) and any novices with a similar spec are expected to perform next year with the race cars that have no lights, no proper seats, very soft slick tyres and probably huge engine specs etc. Surely this will not provide for close competition? Why are we chasing away existing competitors by forcing upon them high additional costs? meanwhile we are only hoping for a few new novices? Why not have both? use Class 7 It may not work but surely it's worth a try? Kev
  7. Why not live up to our name and have se7en? Why ban anything? Why does the car that breaks the all the rules have a club that wants to introduce more of them? It appears from what I've read here that it is understood by everyone that we need to encourage more members into competition and therefore they must be able to drive to an event and win that event class without any modification to their road car. The classes have been chosen to allow this and this appears to be applauded by everyone on here, well done. But why make some of the existing cars redundant? Why does Class 6 exist at all? Are Class 6 cars driven on the road? No they are NOT! so get rid of them as clearly new competitors will NOT be in Class 6. If you decide to keep them then ask why road cars, doing road mileage are forced into Class 6 with light weight racers? If there are sufficient cars, say 7, that want to run certain rubber on their road cars then they should have a place and if necessary a Class of their own. If the initial championship registrations do not attract sufficient numbers of cars for any class then that class can be amalgamated with the next one up. Isn't it simple? 7 Classes for se7ens Kev
  8. Why not run a Class 5A for 1 year to use up the ACB10s seems only fair and those choosing radials immediately can sell their's on to the 5A runners Just a thought Kev
  9. Thanks for all the replies Doug feels it can't be done and the club has something better coming anyway Johnty Lyons already has this in Ireland, well done and it can be done with flight cases, I like your thinking Grant thinks I'm far to thick to learn I agree that's why I need a week of experiencing them andy_h has his own, well done, if you're near me then we could learn together, where are you Andy? Grant surely your syndicate is really a small club with very strict rules 😬 Mav thinks I'm lucky, well thank you, you're a gent Norman has a vision of a full garage, I'm really just thinking a Ford Transit or a box trailer full of gear that I could hire/borrow for a week leaving my tintop in its place or borrowing a tow car Elie thinks the non trackday people will object, I thought everyone did trackdays, it's what its for isn't it? Vintage thinks the club should by a holiday home in Wales (sorry couldn't resist)
  10. Thanks Doug Nothing then ☹️ That's a little disappointing, I'd have thought there'd be a great demand for this sort of equipment. Do all the AOs have them for lending? Or was I just lucky? Dave Surely if we can move a few scales around? I was rather hoping to have them for a week while I experiment and learn. I'm now thinking that perhaps we could ask the powers that be, Doug has suggested as much, and if so what would we ask for? Things I'd like to borrow from the club please are Corner scales Camber gauge Tyre temperature device any more?
  11. What equipment does the club have that we can borrow? I asked an AO last night where I could borrow scales to check my corner weights and he's allowing me to use his next week so no problem there but do we "the club" have anything like this available? thanks Kev
  12. 1400 will have the longer 1st motion shaft for sure. Kev
  13. I suspect the ecu has no idea where the stepper motor is As Dave has stated you can increase or decrease it as required after listening to the idle revs. You may find that the coil feed needs to be interrupted by the ignition switch to kill the engine. Most maps were generated using atmosphere as the fuel pressure reference and so you may be best to change and disconnect and seal the vacuum hose, Kev
