  1. Geoff & Pierre Yes bought calipers from rally design. Making my own brackets so dont know what they would supply. Their kit uses larger ventilated discs and I did not need the additional stopping power or weight for a Blackbird car. To use use Willwood Dynalite II calipers with caterham discs requires a 1/4 inch thick spacer with 4 holes two of which are tapped 7/16 inch UNF and reinforced with a nut welded behind, or however you prefer to fit them. I do all my own construction & fabrication where possible so cannot recommend where to buy except suggest buy the complete kit. Not such a weight or money saving though
  2. I am currently fitting the Willwood calipers to my car, they are very light 1.13 Kg without pads and cheap £89 + VAT. Only a simple mounting bracket needed. Graham - How much larger are the GT6 discs? (diameter + thickness) as it may be worth fitting them at the same time Also wouldnt it be cheaper to buy some standard discs rather than machine yours down - or swop them for mine! 3. If you drill a hole in the right place in the speedo casing, insert a small screwdriver then release the worm drive pivot guess what happens? the speedo works but no more miles go on the odometer! Dont know why anyone would want to do this I'm sure!!
  4. Who needs carbon fibre? - at what price? Just made some new cycle wings for next years race car out of a pair of trailer mudguards and a piece of saloon car roof section (cut out many years ago for sunroof) They look good, are strong, dont weigh much and can be bashed out when pranged. - TOTAL COST THREE POUNDS FIFTY EACH. Rear wings next for under five pounds each
  5. Any of you racers out there who have upgraded to steel hubs want to sell one (or both) of the old ones?
  6. Andy Yeah I am doing the same project for next years race car. Only got as far as rolling chassis & purchase of blackbird engine, but work commitments paused things at moment I am on Sussex / Surrey border. Bought my engine through the clasified ads in Motoring News. There is an engine with exhaust & reversing gearbox for sale in this weeks edition, less hassle than selling of all the unwanted bits. Stay in touch re the project via E - Mail
  7. Arnie I am looking for a 3.38 L.S.D. If yours is for sale E-Mail me with price, I have bought some bits from you before & am local
  8. WANTED Front suspension wishbone set for De-dion car (twin wishbone) anyone out there upgraded to wide track & want to offload the old ones
