  1. DOH I missed the "2 week old laptop" bit... sorry! Like Pierson said, with some gentle persuasion the keys should pop off then you'll be able to clean them properly.
  2. I believe you can wash modern keyboards with hot soapy water and just leave them hung out to dry for a few days... might even be worth sticking it in a dish washer on a rinse cycle? (I accept no responsibility for breaking it but our hardware boffin at work said you can do it)
  3. Thanks I can't get to Pistonheads from work... will check the ad out tonight
  4. Hi everyone Need expert opinions from you all... A colleague picked up a nearly new Toyota from a dealership last night. It started running badly on his way home. After he got home it was impossible to start (he tried for about half an hour), the RAC came out and also tried for about half an hour... they eventually smelt the fuel tank and ascertained petrol had been put in it. Now he’s not called the dealership yet and is concerned about damaged to the engine... obviously he should insist the fuel lines, fuel pump and tank are sorted but should he demand his money back as he's only just bought the car??? Thanks people Edited by - knowley on 24 Jan 2008 09:20:39
  5. Race craft training, the most limiting factor in most cars is the driver - unless you have the skills of an F1 driver that is and I bet even they still have regular training?
  6. Yes opposite lock... TADTS a well placed rubber O ring can help.
  7. Found pictures on Pistonheads... does it have IRS or a Live Axle?
  8. Hello, Could anybody having a MBE 967 Ecu and the connection loom to Easymap tell me what is the battery tension reading (in Easymap) compared to the actual battery terminals reading (measured with a voltmeter)? Thanks
  9. Apparently R300s with throttle bodies dont have an IACV (well according to other threads in techtalk). My R300
  10. Air getting in where? What the IACV? (I have seen that mentioend before but haven't a clue what it is). Mark also thought the ecu sensor for the water temprature could cause issues? Thanks My R300
  11. Hi everyone, My R300s idle is a little bit unstable at the moment. I had a dodgy Throttle Pot which was changed. I had a remap which never really seemed to work well at cold start/hot idle/mot emmisions/idle with fan running etc but last night we switched it back to the standard map. So far so good, she drives like a bat out of hell - seemed a lot more tame on the modified map?! And the idling / cold start is a little better behaved... but still not perfect. After a 15 minute motorway jounrey the idle is a firm 900rpm, a brief blip of the throttle and they drop to just over 500rpm if left it will slowly climb back to 1000rpm+. A warm start showed a low idle of around 500rpm which did cut out once... Just wondering if there are any sensors, or settings or anything else that might be on the blink causing this odd behaviour? Cheers My R300
  12. My water temps never get high enough for the fan to kick in unless the car is stationary My R300
  13. The BTCC series use large wheels and low profile tyres don't they?
  14. 3 slipped discs and one spine operation - I get no pain from driving the car and I have leather seats... work on & cleaning the car does make my lower back ache though, its just too damn low! Edited by - knowley on 18 Jul 2007 11:12:51
  15. Initially mine was the same, I used the smallest ring and stretched it over the column 😳 When placing the steering wheel on I do have to slide the QR locking part forward to make my balls engage with the groove 😳 It doesn't 'click' into place but is locked on securely... I did a trackday yesterday and the steering wheel was fine R'00 Owners Register My R300 Edited by - knowley on 12 Jul 2007 00:21:45
  16. Alba 7 - my 'play' is/was port to starboard I guess this O ring might help you but I would have thought it depends on where the wear has occured? Stationary M25 Traveller - I picked up a pack of "Assorted O-Rings all 3/32" code RP32 made by Robimatic plc. They were hiding in the plumbing bits area. Basically they are small rubber O rings - from the packet I chose a small one and streeched it over the column and pushed it all the way back to the bit the steering wheel clips onto. I feel I must repeat - you will have to make double sure your wheel has locked on properly. At the moment mine doesn't not "click" automatically, to make it lock I push the locking mechanism forward and then it locks in place. The extra rubber must be preventing this from happening automatically. R'00 Owners Register My R300
  17. I have spares Angus... if you still lived up the road.... ☹️ R'00 Owners Register My R300
  18. For ages now my LifeLine quick release steering wheel has had some play in it. James Whiting suggested getting a small thin rubber O ring to put on the column that the QR mechanism would squash... pickedup an assorted packet of O rings from B&Q for 98p and hey presto QR is like new 😬 Must be careful to ensure the QR properly locks in place, its a little stiff now R'00 Owners Register My R300 Edited by - knowley on 9 Jul 2007 15:25:21
  19. To get rid of my horrendous rattle James Whiting put a metal jubilee clip around 2 of the primaries... rattle gone 😬 R'00 Owners Register My R300
