  1. Hoping someone will know the answer? I have a Caterham Sigma 150 2008 which has covered 38,000 miles with very few issues. Recently I am experiencing what seems like a lack of fuel (engine hesitant but then clears), speaking to other club members they suggested change the fuel filter, I cannot see one under the car or on the bulkhead so assume mine will be fitted in the tank, can anyone please confirm this and if so has anyone changed one? Thank you John
  2. If I had garage space I would buy it myself. Although your new SV will be a fantastic car it will not sound like a cross flow with Webbers on full chat, simply amazing.
  3. I cannot believe you are selling your beautiful cross flow, especially after having a full and comprehensive engine rebuild recently, it really is a fine example. I am sure you will not have to wait long before it is in the hands of a new, very lucky owner. good luck with the sale Kingsley

  5. Was 5 years ago now but mine was done at Gillingham and the German tester was a pain. I had taken the doors off and used the special screws provided to secure the mirrors to the windscreen , these were tightened using a 2.5mm Allen key, the tester sat in the car and tried to adjust the mirrors, the mirror moved slightly - FAILED. The whole test had been completed including weighing the vehicle, noise levels, brake efficiency he then decided the handbrake had insufficient travel when applied - FAILED, he would not let me adjust the handbrake nylon adjuster (would take about 30seconds) or tighten the Allen key, it had to be a retest the next week. Make sure he covers all sharp edges and exposed nuts/bolts. The Caterham build manual has a great section on this. Good luck Cheers John
  6. Hi Steve, Lin and I were on our way to Wroxham, had a very good day, good food and a great blat, glad we decided to go yesterday as the weather today is awful. Thank you for the spotted, I did see you waving, I waved too but had already passed you. Cheers John
  7. Had similar problems with my 150 when new but after a re-map it has run well for the last 3 years. Make sure you have the correct spark plugs fitted, after having the first service and 6000 mile service carried out at Dartford I decided to do the 12000 mile service myself, when replacing the spark plugs it turns out I had the wrong ones fitted from new, made a huge amount of difference to the running and reduced the popping and banging and will cruise in traffic without any drama. Cheers John
  8. Driving through London years ago in a Mini Cooper it suddenly spluttered and cut out in the middle of a junction, investigation revealled the nut holding the wires to the contact points had fell off and obviously dropped into the distributor, amazingly the nuts holding the speaker grille to the rear parcel shelf were the same thread, fixed in seconds.
  9. Hi Steve, Lin and I were off to Ludham in Norfolk, we have booked a cottage there in September and were checking out the area. Had a great day although I did have to fit the half hood on the return journey, the rain got too bad. Thanks for the spotted, this is my second in 3 years. Hope you enjoyed your Adnams? Cheers John
  10. Fil M I fitted the CC version 2 years ago, it is expensive for what it is and I have seen some much cheaper options/suggestions by fellow members, but fitting is easy. It comes with full fitting instructions and utilises the spare wheel fitting boss. Took me an hour from start to finish. Cheers John
  11. Keep a selection of spare fuses just in case. Fit a 12v socket for your sat nav. Get a tunnel bag for extra storage (ideal for those fuses). Practice fitting your half hood in under 30 seconds as there is never any cover when the rain comes down. Fit armourfend to your rear wings and other vulnerable areas to reduce those stone chips. Enjoy
  12. Hi Alan, I have a 150 SV which I completed in May 2008 and I think the engine and 5 speed gearbox make for a very good combination. I have driven 9500 fun miles and never really found the need for more power, however had the 175 been available when I purchased mine i would have gone for that option. Cheers John
  13. Hi, have you tried the instrument fuse? I had a speedo stuck on 40mph (Sigma 150 SV 2008) and it turned out to be a 10amp fuse (2nd from left), worth checking. Cheers John
  14. Take the advice and fit Armourfend. My 2008 SV (Viper Blue) has many stone chips on the rear wings, every time I clean the car I wish I had fitted it when new. £250 is a small price to pay when you consider how much you spend in the first place. Cheers John
  15. Hi All, Built my Sigma 150 Roadsport in May 2008, now on my 3rd diff (which is the best so far). James at CC was very helpful in providing the replacements (under warranty) and included fitting even though this was a self build. It is very frustrating that these diffs are so noisy and obviously set up wrong, it spoils an otherwise great car. Cheers John
