  1. I had a idea Why not using 2 dc motors. One being a dynamo the other one powering a high speed fan. The good thing about the dc motor is that the speed of rotation varies according to the voltage it is powered by. SO the principile is easy and puting into practice can't be two difficult and the efficiency should be around 65 to 70 %. I have plenty of 120w dc motor so i just need to make a bracket find a high speed gearbox for the second motor. He Voila. You have a electric supercharger. I will give you some news! Jack

  13. Last winter i had a very good look at super charging my 21. The main advantage of the supercharger is that it doesn't produce as much heat as a turbo. Which is a very good thing in car which have heat troubles There is something on the market called an e-ram which is in fact a fan inside a K&N air filter http://www.electricsupercharger.com/ I wanted to control the speed of the fan according to the position of the throttle which will result in the quick death of the electrical motor as it in only design to work at full throttle. The other option is to go for an Eaton supercharger, or pinch the one from your neihbour's Merc 230 Kompressor. This unit will fit nicely under the bonnet of a 21 and i'm sure an SV will accomodate it. The addition of an intercooler is recomended as well. Jack
  14. It look like i have a completely different hot start problem with my 21. My starter motor will turn but the engine will not start. When it start there is a massive missfire, which clear after a few minute. I took the heat shield off last night and discovered that the small connector to the coil was broken off. Which can explain some mal functionement but not the miss fire Anybody got a spare coil? Or any idea where i could get one? Jack
  15. I have an old fashion speedo which i've just change the cable (las night). This morning travelling to work it was indicating a 120mph @ 4000 rev which is not possible as in fith the ratio is 25mph per 1000 rev. this is nearly a 16% error. Is there a way of recalibrating a speedo? Jack

  24. I'm sure a lot of you have the 52mm TB of the MGF fitted on thier engines Well, i had it as well! And I reverted to the 48mm! When i was running the 52mm, i had a lot of hesitation, didn't notice any hike in performance but did notice in a hike in the petrol comsumption which isn't cool. I wonder if i am the only one who did experienced this problem. My car is a 21 and the engine was fitted in 1996 Jack
