  1. My car is now 15 years ols and I think the glue that once held the lining onto the inside ofthe sidescreens has finally given up the ghost, hence I'm left with some rather unattractive saggy bits of cloth! I wondered if it was possible to cut them and then reglue, has anyone else had this issue and any reccomendations? Thanks
  2. It did come from the breather, possible I overfilled slightly and then a few trackdays Thanks again Jonathan

    Battery Leak

Looks like I've had a bit of acid from the battery spill under the bonnet and now I;ve got that crusty white stuff on the inside of the footwell as well as around the battery and on the underside of the bonnet. possible its been like that for a while. I've invested in anew battery but would like to clean off some of the gunk before I fit it, any suggestions as how to neutralise it and remove it. Hot soapy water has got some of it off but its still a bit rough?? Thanks in advance
  4. Again, thanks guys, have emailed Caterham to see when they might have them in, else I will try Redline. Not urgent as got it through the MOT but ff to the Ring at the end of June so would like to have it sorted before then
  5. Thanks Guys, that should be easier!!! Caterham out of stock and not at all hepful as usual!!! May have to try one of the other brands Ian
  6. I need to do this too, wondered if anyone can help? When you break the track rod end from the hub, how do you remove once the bolt is undone, isn't it a tapered fit so a bit nervous about clonking it with the hammer? Also are the boots a standard part or is it a trip to to Caterham Parts? Thanks

Battery is fine, new this year and have tested with another battery, fuse is now 30A, gonna try fly lead from battery to starter to see if will turn over and then if the is spark and fuel. If anyone is about this afternoon, any help appreciated, especially anyone with perhaps a spare super sport EU2 k series ECU, just in car it's the ECU... Thanks

Is there anyone local to Letaherhead available tomorrow? I think I may have the click of death and have a trackday planned next weekend so am panicking big time. Last weekend the car did it and it was a blown fuse on the ecu, then it was fine but now I just get the click, fuel pump noise etc but nothing, really need someone who's an electrical whizz. Please help! Thanks

    Air filter

What should I clean it with and what type of oil?

    Air filter

Have a 1.8k series Supersport and still have the standard original foam air filter from the first build, any ideas whether I should be replacing/upgrading or maintaining in some way? Thanks
  13. Thanks Dave, your expertise once again greatfully received!!
  14. I'm posting this for a friend of mine who has just bought a Caterham and is waiting for his blatchat password to com thro. He has an uprated K series 1.8 with throttlebodies and needed to change the gasket on the throttlebodies due to small air leak causing a whistling noise. He dropped all coolant using the bolt at bottom of the rad, removed electrical leads, fuel rail and undid the throttle bodies. As he was getting to the last two bolts the TB wiggled so he supported it as he undid the last bolt. Bit of coolant fell out (not much, just assumed it was some dregs that hadn't drained) When he took the TBs off, this was what greeted him /http://thumbsnap.com/nbsd2UNK]here The next picture shows after mopping up with rags / paper towels. /http://thumbsnap.com/64Skvt2b]here given he did this over a few evenings could it be possible that this is some seepage from somehere or would this indicate something much more serious?? View at the moment has been to clean things up and reassemble and give it a go, any thoughts much appreciated? Thanks

I currently have a 1.8K series supersport with around 140bhp, its around 11 years old and I'm doing a few trackdays now and would like a little more oomph. I'm considering throttle bodies and a new ECU to get up to 160 or maybe even a bit more 😳but after a trip to Bedford Autodrome a few weeks back I noticed that with only me in the car exiting the slow corners I was not able to put all of the power down anyway. Ultimately wondering whether I'd be better investing a limited slip diff first and then the power later or vice versa? Before you ask the budget is unlikely to run to both in the first year or 2! Advice much appreciated Lost Boy
  18. I have a 2000 K series supersport and since I built it I have never checked the distributor cap or rotor arm!! Until I saw the article in Low Flying this month!! I am now a bit worried if I take the top off it might disintegrate or something!! How exactly will I know if its worn and need replacement either the rotor arm or the contacts (given I haven't seen one in new condition)? Thanks IAN
  19. wet sump, but I do have a heater!
  20. If I wanted to check the sender, where is it and how can I do it?
  21. Thanks, I'll try that tomorrow, is the stat easy to change?
  22. I'm hoping someone can help me diagnose a problem with my K series 1.8 supersport. The engine seems to be running colder than usual, the problem started at the back end of the summer last year but the car has been garaged for the winter and I've been out for a blat today and its still an issue! It used to consistently run at 80-90 degrees depending on ambient temperature, on my last trip to the ring it started to run cooler and today its running more like 65 degrees (admitedly its cold outside). I'm concerned it could be doing some damage to the engine, particularly at my next trackday? I'm thinking it could be a number of things, temperature gauge, sender, or the thermostat (sticky?), to be honest that's the extent of my knowledge/expertise and I wondered if there was anyone in the Surrey area who could lend a hand initially with diagnosis? I'm in Fetcham if anyone is local? Thanks in advance Lost Boy

    Mot Failure

I had a similar problem a while back (albeit with standard Supersport set up) and it turned out to be the Lambda probe in the exhaust which was shot? PS I should point out I'm no expert 😬 Nurburgring in May...help me!
  24. Maybe David Rowe Motorsport could help? They are only in Abinger Hammer, just up the road from you (and me!) Nurburgring in May...help me!
  25. Hi guys, I was out at the Nurburgring at the weekend for a couple of days and it was hot ..weatherwise. During the drive over the car showed a steady 80-90 degrees (normal) at 85mph or in traffic, whith an ambient temperature in excess of 25 degrees . the temperature stayed the same during my day 1 lapps of the track... but on day 2 the car started the run at 60-70 degrees, with the fan cutting in earlier than usual, on the way back it was equally hot (ambient temp) and continued to settle at 70 rather than 80-90 😔? Could it be a faulty sensor, gauge or stat? The car is a 1.8Kseries Supersport..any advice would be greatly appreciated (I'm not even sure where the stat is! ) Thanks Nurburgring in May...help me!
