  1. thanks for the tips guys...what does 1 inch high mean Adam??...email on its way after BTCC on telly.....only need dip beam really as for racing - not road use
  2. I need a pair of small headlights (approx 90mm diameter) to fit below the headlight cowl of my "other" machine (Fury)......anyone have anything suitable ???? - just as welcome would be suggestions on where I could source them? Demon T offer Hella lights that appear to be this size but they are DT prices (£47 each) as well. thanks Colin
  3. very pretty - if you like green - and very fast - good luck Mark
  4. thanks Adam..are they Avons?
  5. advice please....my father has just started racing career .....instead of settling for a motorised zimmer frame....he has a Raw Striker with Toyota 20 valve 1600... with 14 in wheels shod with AO32s for the dry (Pembrey based Welsh champ), but is looking for a recommendation for wheels and a wet tyre ....thinking of 14 or 15inch...any advice welcome on both best value wheels and tyres you would recommend for the wet. thanks Colin
  6. bit of a low tech enquiry this....looking for a convex (central) mirror to hang from my roll cage - giving a wide rear view - ideally on a quick release type fitting (bicycle saddle adjustment etc) that is solid but easy to adjust - any ideas on where I can source this or parts to create it would be appreciated. Someone told me most autoparts supply convex mirrors - are light, decent size ones that common? cheers Colin
  7. 18 cold usually works about right - but want them at 23-24 hot usually
  8. thanks for all the pointers guys - just got back from a trip and found all the advice - will advise the Oxford English Dictionary that "Jack" now begins with "Q" and next time I look in the DT catalogue I will use a bit more imagination! Will give you a call Raymond cheers Colin
  9. thanks Miles - I'll check out the machine mart site and go measure the clearance I have - -though I think the long arm jobs are the ones I had in mind...not seen them anywhere though - the DT catalogue does not appear to have them anyway.
  10. I am looking for one of these trolley jacks that is designed for very low cars - and lifts with a single arc of a long arm....not sure that is much of a description but hope you know what I mean....there is not enough ground clearance for my normal trolley jack under the latest acquisition...any guidance on cheapest place to get one....or anyone have a second hand one for sale?? cheers
  11. Clearing out and need to get rid of following: Ford V8 inlet manifold - says 289 on it but my engine was a 302 Chrome Mustang air filter holder and filer (about 13.5 in diameter) 2 Aris hal spots - clip on type Odd rear lights Also have a crower cam on ebay (my first experiment) right now - included if it does not go All been carried around the world for nearly 20 years - just in case! Main interest now is getting rid of it all to a good home instead of dumping them - so no reasonable offer refused
  12. Cage sold - thanks for all the interest
  13. Just to confirm my earlier note -- I would like 16 sq m please thanks for organising Colin
  14. John - sorry - mine is a De Dion so not sure it will be the correct fit - suggest you check with Caterham first cheers Colin
  15. Matt - they were probably fine on the road - but did not use them a lot except on track - just looking for something with potentially more life and better feel in road conditions?? Thanks for the feedback folks - any advice on EBC vs Ferodo?
  16. that is exactly what i felt when i got into mine for the first time - but the story changed when i got onto a track and they really warmed up - no fade, lots of bite and good feel - but on the road after power assisted everything in a road car - they do feel as though there is nothing there. Pad material is important (i have not found such good pads since my first set)...but you are not alone on your initial reaction. enjoy it colin
  17. Chris - I am advertising cage plus side impact bar and got lots of interest so will hopefully sell them together - but if this one does not fit and you are still looking in a week or so time - then I have had 1 enquiry for just the cage so might end up with side impact bar left over. Mine is a 92 De Dion so pretty sure would fit your 93.
  18. Mark, Alan - you both have email including piccy
  19. Last set were Ferodo 4003 race pads - but using car more for road and track days now - previous to these used DS3000 pads (not so good). Appeciate advice / ideas / experience on best choice. thanks Colin
  20. it is the with the straight diagonal across the top - not the twin curvy ones - which i think means it is the roadsport version - pictures will confirm
  21. tried a few around here and no luck - probably need to try harder - maybe banner have a web site with dealers - i should have thought of that before!
  22. Peter - just tried to send via the email system in blatchat and not clear how to attach anything - pls post your email address or send me a note with your email to cmchapman@aol.com - just off to get paper but will send photos when get back ta colin
  23. not sure if this post should be here or in "for sale" or "wanted" sections -- but I am looking for advice on where to get a standard caterham size battery for less than a standard caterham size price?? Any pointers gratefully received - in Cheltenham - Worcester area preferred. thanks Colin
