struggle continues - can just see what looks like a faded "NET" on the case so assume it is a Magneti Marelli....goes over OK till trapped between main pulley and between the angle of the descending cross tube and lower chassis member - no apparent better approach to get it any further so can start coming up....if all else fails will try loosening engine mounts - but that willl have to be tomottor night's game cheers colin 😳

Nifty / Marc prob silly question - but which brackets are we talking about here - another 45 mins looking / wiggling / removing the 2 horns/.... got me nowhere....the alt is completely free--- when you referred to brackets - did you mean the main engine mounting?

Yipes - alternator appeared to seize last week ......assumed it was an easy job to replace it......everything came undone and lifted alternator out no problem????....wrong......only moved a few inches before became clear there was no easy exit route .....chassis members, engine, all sorts of obstacles...so question is.....am I being thick (sep emails please)..... or does the exhaust manifold need to come off, or worse the engine out, just to change the alternator 🤔 *confused*
