Stationary: replacing the socket would be the last resort for me - I don't fancy the rivetting bit. Dalong: way to tight for that to make a difference (as the actress said ...) Thanks for any other ideas.

When I bought my latest (second) car, I noticed that the small nipple-like lug underneath the "armrest" flap holding the driver's door closed had broken off. As a result, fastening the door was problematic. Having purchased another armrest (thanks Blatchat For Sale) I thought problem over. 'Fraid not. When the nipple is pushed into the socket set into the bodywork, the bu$$er won't let go again - at least not without a great deal of raunching. Clearly, that's what caused the original nipple to break off. Any ideas how I can fix it?

Used to navigate for a mate who had one fitted to an 1100cc Mini. Scared the sh1t out of me, but very good for handbreak turns and autotests. Do Not Disturb - disturbed already

Carry a decent torch, mine is on a lanyard/get a lanyard (and carry your keys on it, thus alleviating lost keys/key in pocket scenario). Not long had my car when everything died on pitch black country lane. Couldn't see a thing ... Do Not Disturb - disturbed already

Old Roadsport had very handy intermittent wipers. Switch the wipers on, off and back on in quick time and light rain not a problem. According to the handbook, new Roadsport (05) new to me that is, is supposed to do the same. Except it doesn't work. Am I doing something wrong? Or is something broken. Any suggestions?
