  1. Ho ho ho! It’s time for Gogs’ pre-Christmas meet and Santa has decided it will be at the Tal-y-Cafyn on Tuesday, December 5. We’ve been before, but to remind you, it’s on A470 Llanrwst Road, and it’s very pleasant. In fact, it was recently voted Gastropub of the Year – traditional Christmas pudding served with brandy custard is on the menu for £7. Be there from around 7.30pm until the snow gets so deep it’s time to stay for the night!
  2. With most of our cars wrapped up snug for the winter, it’s likely only the hardest of members will venture out open-topped for our meet on Tuesday, November 7 (you know who you are!). The plan is to congregate at The Mulberry, at Conwy Marina, Ellis Way, Conwy, LL32 8GU, just off the A55, for an old-fashioned noggin and natter. I regret I won’t be with you, but I’ll be there in spirit. PS, while I have your attention, please let me remind you that, now the club website has been relaunched, you need to rejoin the Gogs area group (and any other areas you might have joined previously) in order to stay in touch with what’s happening. Go to https://www.caterhamlotus7.club/clubs/ and join your local area (and any other groups). It is also suggested that you click to follow the Area Rep news/blog

    Pitking mirror

By any chance does anyone have a spare Pitking driving mirror surplus to requirements? Colour or condition immaterial - I’m just in need of the small bolt to replace my broken one.
  8. Four Scudo Stunner tyres, 195/45 X 15, all still legal, two slightly better than the other two. £50 All available to see and take away in Rhos on Sea, North Wales, or can be shipped at buyer's expense. Images here.
  9. Spare wheel bolt - always worth having a spare! £10 including UK postage. Image here.
  10. Pair Raydot driving mirrors to fit windscreen uprights. Good used condition. £30 including postage. Image here.
  11. Pair Caterham wind deflectors. Light scratches but still eminently useable. £35 including UK postage. Image here.
  12. Back by popular request (me too), we return to the charming Faenol Fawr Country Hotel, a 16th century manor house in Bodelwyddan, for our Tuesday, February 4 meet. We've been several times before and those who attended will recommend it. Find it at LL18 5UN. It's situated just off the A55 on Rhuddlan Road. Take a left turn after passing Glan Clwyd hospital on your left. Meet from 7.30pmish onwards.
  13. As reward for those members from our eastern boundary who attended the December meet (you know who you are), the Tuesday, January 7, venue will be an easier drive: our old stomping ground at the Glasfryn, Mold. Hardy souls from the west etc and anyone else prepared to venture out in the haze of the new year should meet from 7.30pm(ish) onwards. Regrettably, I need to tender my apologies again, but I will definitely see you in February!
  14. Ian, I took your advice and took delivery today. Had a brief play with it tonight when I got home and I can see distinct possibilities. Any specific advice in fitting would be gratefully accepted. For example, do you fasten if down with anything? Cable ties, Velcro, bungees?
  15. https://www.dropbox.com/s/0y020mpcikl2ydi/CCOTP%20Aug%20%2719.jpg?dl=0 Only two more to go before the hi-vis boys start chucking salt about. Soooo, don't miss the August CCOTP - the penultimate event of 2019. Where did the year go?
  16. I was using the half hood without excluder. I can't speak to the wind direction but I was moving along pretty swiftly in order to get to my destination as quickly as possible. I was soaked and the car interior is still drying out! I have now fitted the excluder, but it sits way too far forward away from the rear bulkhead to be effective (I think). I suspect fabricating my own to fit on the inside of the roll bar could be the answer.
  17. I have a Soft Bits half hood and draught excluder rescued from a previous car, a 2005 K Series SV. The hood fits perfectly on my new (to me) CSR but the draught excluder does not. Having driven through heavy rain last weekend in which the inside of the car, and I, got soaked, does anyone have any ideas on a workaround, or do I go back to Soft Bits? The mesh fits fine if I remove the lower section, but that leaves the flaps hanging to which the lower section Velcros to but I have yet to try this on the road.
  18. An upgrade from my 1800 K Series to a CSR means I have the following parts for sale: A brand new Caterham Cars SV nose cone, yellow, delivered by Caterham to Kendricks in Llangollen following a no claim accident but never fitted. I had to cut open the box to take the pictures. The nosecone is still in its plastic wrapping. It seemed a shame to disturb it! No fittings or badge. £250 Four Scudo Stunner tyres, 195/45 X 15, all still legal, two slightly better than the other two. £50 1800cc K Series clutch cable. Never fitted £25 SOLD 1800cc K Seres throttle cable. Never fitted £20 SOLD Secondhand black 5 3/4-inch, RH headlight assembly with cables. Perfect condition £100All available to see and take away in Rhos on Sea, North Wales, or can be shipped at buyer's expense. 19. Dear all The July 2 meeting will see us return to the charming Faenol Fawr Country House Hotel, a 16th century manor house in Bodelwyddan. We've been once before and those who attended will recommend it, I'm sure. Apparently, it's where the Land Rover Owners' Club hold their meetings. Find it at LL18 5UN. It's situated just off the A55 on Rhudlan Road. Take a left turn after passing Glan Clwyd hospital on your left. Hope to see you there from about 7.30pmish onwards Regards Chris
  20. I'm afraid I cannot recall. I purchased it at Stoneleigh when a Banner battery packed up. The car it was on is now sold. Sorry.
