  1. I had a 1.8VVC SV with 195/45 CR500 fronts and changed to a CSR200 also with 194/45 CR500 fronts and couldn't believe how light the steering was, even with a quick rack. I am no expert but I guess is down to the new suspension setup up on the front. If you are thinking of changing go for it, other than a few teething problems, it has been the best car move I have ever made. Before you ask I don’t work for Caterham and don’t get a kick back for pushing there product! Charles K200CSR
  2. Johnty, cheers for that, I missed that one when looking at the site. Has anyone any experience with a Blaupunkt Lucca 5.2/3, I can't get a steight tale out of the local dealer? Charles K200CSR
  3. Can anyone suggest a good satnav that clips into a cradle where all the connecting cable can be left attached to the cradle rather than plugging and un-plugging them form the unit each time. The cables I require are power in and audio out to my AutoCom. The only item I have found so far is the Garmin Zumo 550 but the unit is a bit bulky because of the waterproofing, I was looking for something quite thin and unobtrusive. Any suggestions welcome but don't tell the wife that I am asking as she thinks navigation is her job! Charles K200CSR
  4. Oops, I replied to a trackday e-mail by following a link on http://www.blatchat.com/t.asp?id=147704&pn=1&ps=15# and then posting a reply but didn't spot that this item was in ChitChat not Track days hence the reason I didn't see it on the RSS feed, sorry. Charles K200CSR
  5. This appears to have stopped working, the other two areas I use are fine 'Tech talk' & 'For sale' but the 'http://www.blatchat.com/feed.asp?t=rss2.0&f=22' hasn't sent anything for a few days. Charles K200CSR
  6. I am looking to fit an LED based high level brake light to my FIA roll bar, has anyone any good suggestions for an LED based product? Charles K200CSR
  7. Colin, I would appreciate an update after your call to CC, I am still awaiting a definative update from CC on the same issue on my Sept-07 CSR and as yet CCM have been unable to give me anyting definate, especially a fix date. Good luck. Charles K200CSR
  8. I suspect the engine will start using oil. The same happened to a friend Honda Civic with a 30:70 petrol/diesel mixture and after only 10 miles the car started to stutter, didn’t stop, and from using no oil it started to us about 2l per 1,000. Ended up with a £3,800 engine replacement and 4 months of haggling. Charles K200CSR
  9. Daren, cheers for the info. Charles K200CSR
  10. Does anyone know if the standard ECU on a UK spec CSR200 (2007 build) has an OBD port/socket? Cheers

  12. I had an VVC with an anti-cav tank, not the full dry sump, and the oil/water temp sensor; they were the same, screwed into a boss at the bottom of the tank. Does the swirl pot have a similar boss?
  13. Does anyone know what it sold for? Edited by - pecccl on 19 Dec 2007 15:44:36
  14. I am assured by CCM that Caterham are working on a revised fuel filler neck assembly to deal with this problem. Charles K200CSR
  15. Sorry to sound like numpty but what is the tile on the Caterham web site! So; Why do race cars get diff braces, I wasn't asked what I was going to do with my car when I ordered it. Why are all CSR's not fitted with diff braces if race cars need them? Charles K200CSR

    Diff noise

What is the difference betwean Ford and CC spec oil? My diff is fine when cold but sounds like a bag of spanners when hot. Charles K200CSR
  17. The two options were detailed as the performance 6-speed and the touring 6-speed, however the physical change was the diff.
  18. Did anyone order a new CSR 200 or 260 from a Caterham price list that included the 6-seed touring gearbox option but either order a 260 with a standard 6-speed or the standard 6-speed upgrade for a 200? If you did, please could you let me know what diff ratio you were supplied with, a 3.62 or a 3.38? Cheers
  19. Tony, If you haven't sorted the Tacho issue by the next meeting I will bring my scope so we can check if its the electrics or the guage. Do you plan to go and if so with the car? Charles K200CSR
  20. Do you own an XPower 160BHP SV, if so then I am selling the number plate for your car! If you are interested then I am looking for a £200 donation to NtL, £200 for me and whatever the authorities want for transferring the plate from me to you. If you want I will even send you the current plates made by Caterham in 2003 for the cost of the postage being donated to NtL. I am selling the car this plate is on, so don't wait too long.
