  1. Trying to see how you can insert a hyperlink using a name/word rather than a URL: Carrotland Ah is that how you do it. Type the word first, highlight it then hit the chain symbol. Simples!
  2. Thanks Geoff, for the detailed analysis. I'll certainly check the spherical bush and check for play in the others. Great stuff! Tazio, thanks for raising a smile
  3. Thanks Geoff, sounds like you have fun in yours I just wondered, they have never been changed since new in 1996. Having discovered how the engine mounts had deteriorated this year, I wondered about the rubber in the suspension bushes. It doesn't seem easy to check.
  4. Just wondered how many years/miles before suspension bushes need replacing on a road car? 1996 K-Series Roadsport. Ta.
  5. I built a live axle crossflow in 1996. The wooden panel was standard but I remember fitting an ally honeycomb panel during the build because I preferred it. I think the honeycomb panel was for the race cars? It fitted without alteration at the time. Maybe reduces fire risk?
  6. No, I think the red one was ours....
  7. Postscript: After a couple of hundred miles, it has fixed itself! Driving back to our B&B from the Saturday night party at Donington. I guess it was a combination of high spirits and vibration. Both counters are now working.
  8. Woohoo! We've been spotted! We were a yellow car with green stripe, followed by a dark blue, then red (me and the wife), then another yellow with green stripe? It was our "oldies" gang going back to Carrotland from the weekend at Donington. We cut across country but had to do that stretch of dual carriageway.
  9. Thanks Jonathan, I wouldn't bother either but my Insurance is for limited mileage. Not prepared to "invent" an annual mileage.
  10. The Ododmeter has stuck part way to turning over to 60,000 miles. Has anybody successfully freed one off?
  11. Super-quick 24 hour delivery from those Caterham Stores boys. All for £3.50 postage and packing, the Royal Mail charge alone was £3.12. Thanks chaps! Fitted new mounts this afternoon, about an hour all in. Would have been easier if I had a bigger garage and could get round the car. Thought I'd publish a picture of the old ones, very scary and a warning to me to check more regularly! Thanks again for your imput everyone, what a great place this is.
  12. Thanks Nick for the additional tip, just ordered two from Caterham parts.
  13. Paul, Malc, many thanks for your input. Is it a simple job i.e. support the sump on a block of wood and a trolley jack. Unbolt and replace one side at a time? (I don't have an engine hoist to take the weight) Or are there any pitfalls for the unwary?
  14. 1996 K-Series Roadsport. The engine mount rubbers are original. Doing a routine check today I spotted that the nearside engine mount rubber looks torn all the way round. Is this normal?
  15. Spotted parked up in a bay in a side street yesterday. Red Classic reg no: EU 13 OUT. Wondered whether you were a Brexiteer. Or maybe think that leaving is bad luck
  16. Spotted today Saturday 25th March parked up on Market Hill, Halstead - Reg Number R 500 GDC Two of you were either getting in or getting out at the time. Nice day for it!
  17. Just read your article in January Low Flying, a timely and worthwhile reminder. Glad you were ok.
  18. Looks like an A021R? What was yours Doug?
  19. Congratulations Alan, your first spotted? Great day for it!
  20. So, why are you selling your pride and joy?
