Got my replacement blades only from car builder solutions and cut to the same length as original. Much cheaper. Available in black or stainless.

Pain I know but can you easily reconnect the original indicators without actually fitting them to see if they still work ok

First thing I would check is hazard sw they are notorious for giving different problems. Do you have a substitute to try.

Was the capillary tube copper and if so could that have been catching altenater pulls

Have you tried soaking news paper and gradually filling the bearing and driving a mandrill in to force the bearing out.

Have you thought about a dimplex thermostatically controlled tubular heater under the car and a car cover.

Are the screws tight in the butterfly spindle? If not can allow disc to move and jam.

I also fitted a Steibel horn. Made a triangle plate , bent at 90 degrees and drilled to fit the original horn studs with a single hole at the top of the triangle for the horn.
