  1. I'm no expert, but every car I've owned with power steering has made a noise when on full lock. I think you were just unlucky that you had a problem subsequently.
  2. I'm having my car serviced on Tuesday, K series 1.8VVC, and have asked for the foam baffle to be removed and holes drilled in the sump gasket as per all the recommendations on here. A couple of queries, is the gasket a Rover part or a Caterham modified one, do I need a new one once the sump has been dropped or will the old one do? Thanks in anticipation Brian
  3. Saw the White and Black one on A413 towards Chalfont St Peter having a play with a Monaro, I imagine he thought he could get away from you, what a surprise! Blue one today going towards j2, M40, from Beaconsfield.
  4. I wouldn't mess around if I were you, get the car checked out asap. You should not have any leaks anywhere. Brakes are one of those faults I don't leave to the next service. The fluid will do horrendous damage to your paintwork in any case. Brian
  5. Going towards Wooburn Green this afternoon about 1300. Fantastic day for blowing the winter cobwebs away. Brian
  6. Gave you a cheery wave whilst on my way to Norwich. Sunny in the Chilterns and in Norwich, bit gloomy where you were, both on the way up and back. Brian
  7. That was probably me and the missus on the way home after enjoying a fabulous day in the sunshine. Got a nice red face for my trouble now even with the factor 30!!! Have to do it sometimes don't you. Its a Black SV by the way. Brian
  8. I had a problem with my fuel gauge recently where the needle behaved similarly to yours or was certainly inconsistant. When I took the boot floor out I found that one of the bayonet connectors was very loose on the sender, I just crimped it up slightly and the gauge seems to read correctly now.
  9. I had a similar experience recently with the dreaded click. Checked the battery, stuck it on a charger/conditioner, fully charged. Earth leads all ok. A recently retired garage owning pal came round with a box of tricks which showed that the battery had 12 volts with no load, but only 7 under load. One new battery later everything hunky dory.
  10. I was in the black SV heading North, saw you travelling south behind another sports car, not sure what.
  11. Very attractive shade of pale blue, going towards Flimwell. I was in the green Merc coming towards you. fantastic day for it I imagine. Brian Edited by - Gnockoff on 27 Feb 2009 19:39:57

Actually thinking about it, it was probably the green/ali 7 I saw about the same time, as it looks like I was going the same way as your missus, sorry.

  14. That was me, my 7 is black, and on the best day for ages, was reminding myself why I like my car so much. Edited by - Gnockoff on 22 Feb 2009 10:26:14
