  1. should i see an increase in exhaust alone, read somewhere the standard 4-1 robs 10 bhp
  2. So i think we all suffer a bit from the upgrading disease,so my question is .I run a 1.8K Xpower 140 with the standard exhaust 4-1 manifold/system which i read strangles the engine.I dont really want to take the engine apart, and wondered if going 4-2-1 would help it breath better with the aluminium plenum and release a few horses,or forget the exhaust and go DHTB to get a bit more.Which route is best ,or is someone going to say i need both(gets expensive then ) What could i expect from each
  3. Size 10 feet . Adjusted the pedals 15mm left on the clutch, around 10mm right on the brake ,so a little better.Need to tweak the accel for toe/heel.Will remove the rubbers for a bit more ,good idea on the tape
  4. may get a pack of them for £11 all in if 2 of the marked springs do the job, although i found a spring at work that increased the load
  5. that is looking like the solution
  6. no space down the left to slip my foot into ,have to lift and place under it ,does the picture look like a normal footwell and pedal spacing
  7. lowered floor is my last hope,I think positioning of the pedals will help, like you ,i have to place my foot lightly on the clutch(help with pre load till i get the correct spring) whist going through the box or under it when cruising,SV i hear you but i like the s3 shape More side movement would be bliss ,
  8. I know Caterhams are tight down there and special shoes help, anyone bent the pedals to get a better fit? pics of your mods VERY welcome ,here's mine at the moment before i mod them ,does it look normal? first pics is above, the second pic i am thinking of bending the clutch 20mm left and the brake 5-10mm to the right
  9. Here is my current set up (one spring ) if you can find out about the other springs please let me know
  10. never noticed it before, but never really given the car any beans .It was more bouncing up and down with no foot pressure on it at all(foot to the side/under pedal) take on board your clutch cover issue.Seemed more, not enough preload, did notice it only has one spring on clutch pedal
  11. Wow, bit technical for me but i get the gist of what he's saying. So i gather i need a double spring set up ,anyone know if the springs are still available from Caterham?
  12. So, went for a blast today to see where my local area meet is ,noticed when giving the car its legs so to speak, i could feel the clutch pedal bouncing?? do i need stronger springs or some form of adjustment? i presume its the thrust bearing on the clutchplate feeding back
  13. who did the floor and how much?,based in leeds so if caterham or arch did it its a bit of a trek
  14. floor standard atm ,if the wheel and pedal tweeks dont get me comfy, then a floor is the next step
  15. in a quest to get the car how i like it,i am toying with a flat bottomed wheel to give a little more leg/clutch room.any pics of what you guys/gals have, and size
  16. Andy, just taken the car for a quick short run, totally different car!! can hold on light throttle and the drivetrain isnt jerking and clunking.control of the throttle is easier and progressive. Thanks so much for your input the car is something like i was expecting it to be(although still need a LSD ) great place this forum and great people
  17. Hi Andy, sorry not yet, work and my elderly father in-law had a fall so been a bit distracted.will try tomorrow or Monday mornin definitely ,as hopefully i can get some me time.did the reset but not run the car peter
  18. done the reset but is lashing it down so no test drive today, aluminium intake and throttle all factory built
  19. hi Andrew, its a 1.8 roadsport 140 X power so I think it has better cams(some had supersport ones),I will try the reset first tomorrow and get back to you.I do wonder if play/backlash in the diff is not helping aswell.I just seems very sensitive, hard to keep constant on light throttle I cant believe it should be this way ,my K series Elise was fine ,and also my westfield .I just doesnt feel refined/smooth
  20. ok, rover 2005 1.8K series, love the car but it feels a bit snatchy/on/off at light throttle. It has a Kmap modded MEMS3 ecu.My question is ,can i just plug in another rover mems3 ecu (standard) to see if it makes it more drivable on light throttle, will it have to be a 1.8 K series one or will a 1.6 do? Will i need any other bits ,remote fob and 5AS immob unit? I really want to try it and if it does cure it then will see if Kmaps can dial the issue out
  21. cheers,so a bit more to it than i imagined ,but doable.I am i right in thinking its a sierra diff ,but with different driveshaft connections, sure my We-------d had bolts on the shafts and then just drop it out.
  22. still learning my caterham, how hard is it to drop the rear diff out,i will split the prop first to see if the play is diff or 6 speed box.Seems noisy and clunky, may get the Kmaps changed aswell
  23. fitted the red led bulbs and they are very bright ,impressed, now for the amber ones
