  1. Thanks Jonathan, good to know.
  2. Posted earlier in Club Track Day topic, but it's not getting picked up in new and updated activities/topics - assume it should?
  3. So ... any one having second thoughts about going next week, happy to pick up any slots going
  4. Phoned up today to book a place only to be told there were no places left Good news for the club as I know Andy was concerned about filling all the slots, particularly given the price for this one. If anyone needs to pull out between now and 29th July, please pm me as happy to pick up any spare slot going. Bob
  5. And how it should be driven? -
  6. A couple of videos from the day. Is this a new meaning for 'wet and dry'? Cadwell Wet - Cadwell Dry - Bob
  7. Might explain why I had to keep pulling over in the dry to let them pass
  8. Andy, It was great to meet up the night before at the Royal Oak - good recommendation whoever came up with that one. Many many thanks for a great event, even if it was a little 'challenging' at times! Cadwell is a great circuit and is now on my must return list, but hopefully in the dry - I'm still trying to dry the carpet under the drivers seat from all the rainwater that got in!! Ditto the comments re Merrick and Phil - Merrick sat along side me late morning whilst it was still raining hard and just after the circuit had re-opened following the big accident. It was my first session at Cadwell and my first track session in the wet, yet thanks to his bravery and great instruction I've learnt so much more about car control in the wet that will stand me good for whenever I drive in the wet either on the track or on the road. Work prevents me from making the Brands Indy session, but hoping to get to the Brands GP session on 29 July. Bob
  9. Light green with twin black strips spotted just after 3pm with roof on in a quick shower!
  10. Booked today and told there were 45 signings to date with a maximum of 60 available. Have also booked into the Royal Oak for both the Sunday and Monday nights - there were doing an offer on a two night stay and it's a long drive back to Surrey after a good day on the track! Can't wait now!! Bob
  11. I have significant rotational free play at the steering wheel. Someone mentioned that there is an adjuster nut on the top of the steering box (where the rack and pinion meet) which can be adjusted to remove slack, but over-tightening when the wheels are straight may lead to stiff steering when on full lock? Would welcome POBC thoughts on the correct process for adjusting. Thanks Bob
  12. Word of caution from someone who messed up his month old GoPro. I used a lapel mike which had a long enough lead to clip under the dash and then needed an adapter to plug into the GoPro camera - thing was that the opening in the transparent camera case wasn't quite large enough for the official GoPro adapter plug - the plug casing fouled on the camera casing just enough to throw off the angle - and in my very light 'ham-fisted' way I managed to break the socket on the camera - I think the solder joints holding the socket in place became semi-detached from the circuit board because of the angle I was using. It rendered the camera useless because I couldn't charge the battery in camera thereafter, or connect the camera to other devices. GoPro were brilliant and replaced the camera without too much fuss. I then bought a spare camera case off eBay and enlarged the hole were the lead fits through it into the camera using a dremmel. I didn't think I was being that heavy handed with it at the time - they are incredible bits of complex and compact kit and it seems from my experience can be delicate to 'mishandling'. Bob
  13. Can we have a single 'idiots' forum user guide that members can add to for things like adding profile picture, accessing back copies of Low Flying, adding links, etc Would help speed up the process of getting used to the new forum and would also be a good induction guide to future new members. Thanks Bob
