  1. Thanks both, much appreciated. Is there some sort of spring in the assembly or just the grub screw and nut?
  2. Hi I have a 2003 R400 K series fitted with the Caterham RBTBs. The screw that adjusts the balance between the two bodies has worked loose and been lost. The part consists of a threaded screw with Allen key, a nut and possibly a spring. I am trying to locate replacement parts but have not been able to find a supplier or parts specifications. Does anyone know the part number / specs or where they might be available? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks The RBTBs - two pics of mine and a pic of how it should be with the missing screw circled in red.
  3. Hi John I have used the Demon Tweeks decibel slayer and it takes the edge off but you are looking at a few dB rather than anything more substantial. It's enough to get me through noise checks which is what matters though and easy to fit and not obtrusive. I have ended up with 2 so if you are interested, I can sell you an unused one at a bit of a discount to the Demon Tweeks price.
  4. I am looking for a half hood and ideally a long shower cap (that covers the engine grilles) to fit my 2003 Caterham, standard chassis with the track day roll bar bar. Looking for something in good condition and from one of the reputable manufacturers e.g. SoftBits, Thundersport, Oxted etc. Thanks
  5. I'm not sure that their website is kept up to date as a number of those cars have been for sale for months (if not years). I saw the R400 they have advertised at a track day at Castle Coombe a couple of weeks ago - recognised the rather good number plate!
  6. Thanks both, that makes sense. What I can't figure out them is why some K series Caterhams are ULEZ compliant and how they are being assessed if there is no CoC / emissions data? For example, a random reg I looked at on the net was R70DJA (2006 K series Caterham) which is ULEZ compliant. Same for FN06DYT.
  7. Picking up from another thread on road charging, my 2003 K series R400 was originally showing as ULEZ compliant and then switched to non-compliant when ULEZ went live for the wider London area last year. The V5 does not show any emission data and I am not sure if any of the cars are Euro 4 compliant (I suspect not). I know the results can be variable and some people have found their K-Series cars to be ULEZ compliant (can be checked here https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/driving/check-your-vehicle/). If so, any idea what it was based on e.g. Euro 4, date, NOx data etc.? The ULEZ requirements are to be Euro 4 compliant or have NOx levels at or below 0.08g/km. I'm not optimistic of getting under that but has anyone requested a Certificate of Conformity from Caterham and got one back? I recently did this for another car I have, CoC showed under the limit and TFL updated the car to compliant status. Any ideas / feedback would be appreciated. Thanks
  8. Could you please send me pictures of the harnesses? Many thanks
  9. Shout if you need any route / accomodation / food suggestions.
  10. Quieter on the weekdays, especially over summer holdiays etc. I am going to the club trackday (on a Mon) and will drive up from London on Saturday am and take the scenic route. Easy to fill a couple of days with great roads, food etc.
  11. Hi I am looking for a quieter exhaust for my K-series R400 to use on trackdays. Raceco seem to be the ones to have so ideally one of those but open to others that are similarly effective. Would be interested to hear from you if you have something sat in the garage. Thanks
  12. If I understand camping correctly, it involves a tent in which case I'll pass thanks!
  13. Air BnB is a good shout although I would prefer a hotel with a bar / restaurant so I don't have to worry about food etc. Will check out what there is on the island and good point to book early. Sounds like I might get away with noise there which is good news! Thanks
  14. Hello I've booked the 8th Aug trackday at Anglesey, really looking forward to it as I've never driven the circuit since its revamp. Looks very scenic and hoping for decent weather in August! I didn't see any details of noise testing / limits on the booking form, does anyone know what the limits are and how they measure? My car is a bit noisy so I am going to do what I can to quieten it down before a few trackdays this year. Also wondered if anyone could recommend a decent hotel / B&B in the area as it's a long way from home so I will probably take a scenic drive up there on the weekend before trackday. Thanks
  15. Another vote for the classic additions cover. I have had a few over the years and they are really good.
  16. Thanks all for the feedback - on the exhaust and using the search facility! Much appreciated.
  17. Hi Looking to do some trackdays this year so would be interested in a quiet exhaust for sale that will fit an R400. I've had a Raceco exhaust on another car and liked it but open to other options. Thanks
  18. Thank you - I think my next question will be how to use the search function!! Still interested to hear what works for people in terms of db killers or a new exhaust?
  19. Hello, happy new year I have a 2003 R400 which is standard apart from the cat by-pass / exhaust. I've just booked a few trackdays with the club at Castle Coombe (100 dba static), Anglesey (no noise limit?) and Donington (98 dba drive by). Any idea what I should expect my car to register static and drive by? I am assuming I will need to quieten the car down and am thinking of options: 1. Adding a db killer / bolt on device to the end of the exhaust? Are these effective and will it drag on the floor during cornering? 2. Repack the existing exhaust? 3. Replace with a Raceco exhaust (or alternative). I think the current set up is also non MoT compliant so if I am changing it, would be good to fit something that covers that. Any suggestions or experience would be appreciated. Sorry if this has been covered before (I thought I asked) but I searched and didn't find anything. Thanks
  20. I would pick a colour you like! You can probably mock it up on teh configurator to get a decent impression of what it will look like but its never the same as seeing it in the flesh. Have you see a colour painted in those colours? Personally, I would find a car I like and then copy it so there are no surprises when finished as opposed to going for something totally new.
  21. I found that creams potions on their own didn't do that much good but heating up the wings did. Then apply potions. Only temporary though and I suspect a rub down and relaquer is the only real soloution.
  22. Thanks all. Mine are not lacquered so in their original finish. They went milky after I washed the car but I tried to dry as thoroughly as possible afterwards. Have tried WD40 but to no avail. Will try a vinyl and rubber solution that has worked before but could be a refinish and lacquer job which I was trying to avoid.
