  1. Hi, Thanks for the interest. The headlights have been sold.
  2. That's what l thought but it is always worth getting info from owners with more experience.
  3. Thanks guys, l have managed to weed out a lot of unnecessary stuff and fuses as well. Which bulbs do you recommend should be replaced in pairs if one blows? Is it worth carrying a spare relay? There is scant information in the handbook on these.
  4. Can anyone tell me if the bulb replacement chart iin the Owners Handbook (which remains unchanged for many years) is still accurate for a modern spec Ford engined S3 car? It is far too hot to check each light in this weather where the car is stored and l need to make sure l have the appropriate spares.
  5. Thanks mate. Nice one! l will give them a call tomorrow. Managed to find another entry in CBS catalogue.
  6. I don't know the technical term for this but l am looking for the rubber plug which loops around the battery master switch and is used as a seal from the elements once the red switch has been removed. Located on drivers side in the stanchion triangle. Ford Sigma engine. 2013 Supersport.
  7. New addition: Banner Battery in great condition + Battery Tray & Strap - £50.00 ....collection only on this item.

    Hearing effected

Cannot remember for sure because they were done at least 6 years ago. I can't see it costing less than £100 for the service.

The Boots ones that l was referring to are not off the shelf. You have to book an appointment with one of their audiology Hearing Centres (usually twinned with an optician) and they will test your hearing to see which frequency range has been damaged. You can then elect to have earplugs custom made for you on a prescription. This consists of your ear canals being injected with silicone to get a perfect fit. They will then make you a set of ear plugs and you can choose the level of decibell reduction that will suit your needs.

    Hearing effected

Your hearing is assaulted by the transmission on one side and if you own a Ford- engined car - the exhaust immediately to your right. You can either get a generic earplug off the shelf or go to a Boots hearing Centre and get plugs which are tailor made for your ear canals. I wrecked my hearing playing in rock bands but l also did a spell driving 7.5 tonne lorries which were deafening when sitting in the booming, cavernous cabs. I found the transmission squeal left my ears ringing for days. The other thing is that l arrived at my delivery destination feeling exhausted. I started to wear ear plugs and found the ringing reduced and l did not feel so tired when l had done a day's deliveries. I have tinnitus and do not recommend it, so please do look into getting a decent set of earplugs!
  11. I have the following items up for grabs following the sale of my 2004 K-Series SV in December 2016 : Caterham Heated Windscreen (silver alloy) with the Stanchions (silver alloy) - The windscreen has a couple of small surface chips but is MOT worthy - collection only £50.00 STILL AVAILABLE Banner Battery Tray +Strap - VGC, suitable for S3 chassis also - £20.00 - (delivery not included). STILL AVAILABLE Pair of 7" Caterham Chrome Headlights. The offside headlight is in excellent condition. The nearside has a very small dent in the housing. It also has loose mounting rivets and the thread of the main mounting bolt is very tight. These may be useful for a refurbishment or parts - £20.00 - (delivery not included). SOLD!
  12. I will need to get a wheel brace and jack. Do any members have any recommendations as an alternative to what CC sell on their Parts website? I am more concerned by practicality, quality and performance than cost.
  13. I've gone for the spare wheel option. To be honest, it is one of the things that l like about the Seven - actually having a spare wheel which gives you more control of a potentially bad situation. Never been too keen on spacesavers or the foam tyre inflation kits!
  14. I suppose it could be argued that the spare wheel also puts a tad more weight over the rear wheels which would be an additional bonus.
  15. My current Seven came with no spare wheel. Instead, there was a tin of Tyreweld fastened to one of the struts inside the boot. Caterham Cars also do not really go out of their way to encourage new car buyers to fit spare wheels. I would appreciate any views of owners on the subject - good or bad. I use the car for touring mainly. My previous Sevens all had a spare wheel fitted but l never had any recourse to use it - maybe l was just lucky! Any observations would be very welcome.
  16. I will be taking a standard, great condition Caterham Battery Tray + Strap to the Stoneleigh Kitcar Show - £20.00 Still available. I also have a set of 7" Chrome Headlights which are from a 2004 SV. The offside headlight is in excellent condition. The nearside has a very small dent in the housing. It also has loose mounting rivets and the thread of the main mounting bolt is very tight. These may be useful for a refurbishment or parts. Asking price £25.00. SOLD! They will be available Sunday only.
  17. The larger LEDs on this one are much brighter hence my recommendation for track use.
  18. If anyone is interested, I have the most recent design of Lifeline Rain Light for sale. I am taking it to the National Kitcar Show at Stoneleigh on Sunday which may save someone on the postage. The Rain Light is sold by Caterham as: Rain Light Race - product ref: 30L284A for £94.50. The light is rectangular and the LEDs are significantly brighter than the old square rain light. I tried the rain light briefly as a high level brake light but it is really too bright for this purpose and ideally should be aimed at a motorsport application. The rain light and the cable are in near new condition. The plastic clip-on connector at the end of the cable has been removed so the wires will need to be individually wired up when installing the unit. £50.00
  19. Having recentky been to Esso and Shell stations and experienced no issues, l would conclude that the problem is the Tesco filling guns. One nice feature l found at a reasonably local Shell station is a 2 speed setting on the gun. This allows a quick or a slow fill. Excellent feature!
