  1. Hi, yes I'm aware you're a massive fan (for good reason) of the Tracksport lsd. The Tracksport is the only other type of ATB/lLSD  that I would consider fitting for well documented reasons.I have fellow seven enthusiasts that have both got in excess of 20K road miles from their alternative manufacturer LSD's with no complaints but I can't help thinking they are the exception.I really do want to fit and forget.

  2. Due to unforeseen circumstances a while back I had to decline the opportunity to buy the aforementioned from a club member but now I am actively looking again.I am aware Burton have new ones for £610 delivered but wondered if anyone has one lurking in their parts stash they would consider selling?

  3. Had this type of leak at the dry sump end of my duratec even after being advised not to remove the pipes due to the possibility of leakage upon refitting and the tiny amount of oil that can be removed by doing this is not worth the potential agg, but I still went ahead and did it.

It leaked quite badly from one of the hoses,I then removed the new oil as best as I could,My fix was to not and try and over tighten them but to remove clean and then fidget the conical fittings in to a slightly different mating position mm's at most, I retightened it and bingo! I've had no oil leaks since June and yes I do check.  *beer*

This advice of my personal experience maybe something or nothing but hope it helps.

  4. Evening everyone and once again I ask for some advice.

My car runs pre 15 style AP four pot calipers and vented discs all normal stuff so far.I've owned this seven for about a year and a half and it was purchased from a reputable dealer. When new to me I noted that the discs felt warped as braking at anything around 60 mph made the steering vibrate in my hands and when coming to a halt at slow speed it was if the car slowed and then released the brakes, this feeling is only seat of the pants feeling but none the Less there.I couldn't get the work done inside the warranty period but I have to say the dealer was as always is in my experience brilliant and agreed to sort it at my convenience. New discs were fitted and all good for about 300 miles and I'm sorry to admit very steady miles but now the slow speed grabbing and releasing when coming to a halt has reappeared its not something I've encountered on my previous sevens but I have to say that they all ran the Girling calipers and std discs!

Anyone got an idea what's going on?

If it helps any I have EBC yellow pads in the front and haven't a clue about the rears.

    thanks in advance

  5. Hi hope this is of some help to you.If it is the Caterham/Thundersport half hood the rear two rear facing straps come up from underneath between where the two rear facing roll bar mounts are ie between the chassis bracket and the roll bar,I can't remember if you have to remove the clip to feed it through the gap or not as it's been a little while since I fitted mine and im not near the car to be able to have a look. The side straps are anchored by removing the outermost of the roll Bar bolts on each side and then simply slide the bolt through the eyelet and reinsert the bolt, you may need to place the strap in a different position as when tightening the bolt up it will grip and move the strap slightly, make sure the replaced bolts are torqued up correctly, all will become apparent when you do it.Good luck and if you're still unsure S&C's are only on the end of the phone.

  6. This car sounds familiar as I believe that is was one I looked at in the summer of 2021.

If it is that car in orange with black nose cone (R400 spec car) then yes it is dry sumped and has had a ton of work done to it by Paul Matty sports cars prior to GP sevens marketing it, there was a huge bill to verify this.

I spoke to someone at PM and they described it as a very nice car that "gets down the road quickly"

It would be interesting to know if it is this car?

  7. Hi, Hope this helps.

This was my question about four years ago and fellow club member Nick from Huddersfield very kindly sent me this info.

Its nice to be able to further his help.

ps sorry about the rotation, I know there is someone who will rotate it for me *rofl*  thank you.

  8. Joking aside I have checked the ring and it is true and undamaged. On advice I have cleaned the surface of the prop-shaft then degreased it with ipa and then used bearing lock to secure it,so hopefully this will do the job.I may well reinforce it with Araldite as John has suggested. The last resort would be some very careful spot welds.

Thanks again,I'll keep you posted and if this does prove to be successful this could help others in a similar position.

  9. Please could someone advise me if it's safe to drive the seven with a loose reluctor ring?

On a blat last weekend my speedo started to fluctuate and then finally gave up,I assumed the sensor had been hit by something and had moved but upon inspection it is still in situ and it is the reluctor ring that had moved inboard.

I am able to move it by hand all be it with some resistance and I'm concerned that it may move outboard and foul the bolts on the dedion ears! Any advise on a course of action would be greatly appreciated.

    thanks in advance
