  1. This is why I am a club member, a superb article.
  2. Thanks for posting your engine rebuild story, really interesting.
  3. I went looking for one of these a couple of years ago. Like you I wasn't prepared to spend Seventy quid or so on a small length of cable. I believe they are also used in early Land Rovers but I failed to find one for sensible money.
  4. Caterham parts listing the K Apollo Tank as available at £313 and in stock!! Not sure if it comes with the fittings though.
  5. Yes, there is a nice Alfa going the same way on another drive near me. I suppose its often dreams and plans that never get realised when bigger issues get in the way.
  6. Mazda RX8 slowly returning to dust, I have noted its slow demise over a few years on a local driveway.
  7. This is an interesting thread, apologies to Beagler is it has drifted a bit. I have a K series with Emerald ecu which needs mapping at some point. For those who have been through the process, do the rolling road gents generally require a wide band lambda sensor to be fitted rather that the standard narrow band Bosch type? Can a useful map be produced with the stock sensor.
  8. Optic clear car glass repairers did a very good job sorting a chip on my tintop this week. The have nation wide coverage.
  9. Not sure the early K series had the luxury of the sleeved collector.
  10. I split mine last year for a refurb and the only place I could find that stocked the small internal seal between the two halves was Moss UK.
  11. Front port torpedo tube flooded?
  12. Beautiful, could you tell me who supplied the exhaust system? Good luck with the sale.
  13. Thanks Gents for the info. I happened upon the SELOC article yesterday, very informative.
  14. I am thinking about converting my old narrow track car to wide track. Rather than use the screw on tie rod extensions which come in the Caterham wide track kit, I would rather use proper wide track tie rods if possible. Is it a big deal to open up the steering rack and swap to wider tie rods? I appreciate that this is only an aesthetic change as for road use the handling advantage is questionable.
  15. Intake air should be as cool as possible, I would have thought it could get very warm in that confined box. All the best with the project though. Chris
  16. Looks very neat, have you started the car up with it on yet to check the joint sealing?
  17. It might be a bit far from Newbury but Partridge Green Motorsport would be worth talking to.
  18. I don’t think the Caterham 4-2-1 VHPD system has a cat so would be a problem at mot time.
  19. Tazio, thanks for the Simpson link.
  20. I talked to Powerspeed last week, they have stopped doing systems for the K engine. Non standard options seem to be getting difficult to find. Simpson exhausts who were another choice seem to have disappeared.
  21. I think the close proximity of the indicator to the DLR is the problem. I find I often miss indications on vehicles approaching, maybe its just me.
  22. I think indicators integrated with daylight running lights in the same cluster are dangerous. I find the indicator flash is often eclipsed by the always on day lights. I prefer indicators to be in a separate location to the running lights.
  23. Richard, if you get the garage to remove the primaries from the engine be sure they mask up the paintwork around the system. It is so easy to catch the painted body when removing the pipes.
