  1. If it were an SV I'd be biting your arm off...
  2. thanks, much appreciated.
  3. before I bugger it up, how do these badges get applied? Are they just peel the back off and apply? Soak them in water? I know this is a really dumb question... but I'm really dumb. Thanks in advance!/sites/default/files/images/users/40423/DSC_0001.JPG
  4. Camping info from the circuit... "You need to arrive before 6. Toilets and Showers. £10 per tent. Pub in Blyton." which means i won't be camping there. Think you need to drop them a line to confirm you'll be getting there. So it's nearby campsite or early start for me...
  5. Am also interested in camping and have dropped them a line via te website to inquire about times, costs ( and the nearest pub! ) and will share anything I get back. Cheers, m
  6. Many thanks for these, and an excellent day.
  7. Any recommendations for hotels near Rockingham? I'm booked on my newbie's track day and need to stay over somewhere vaguely local. Have signed up for the pre-evening social too. Will be driving the 7 there and ( hopefully ) back so need somewhere with parking and security. Any help gratefully received. Cheers, m
  8. Hi, took the plunge, fitted a track day roll bar, new tyres and booked up for Rockingham. Investigating insurance now! Any recommendations for local hotel with decent parking? ( have ticked the box for the social the night before ) Thanks, m
  9. Just to complete the thread, I took the plunge and bought four ZZS tyres and put them on. No problems with the clearance, they're tight but there's a few mm clearance. Have 20psi in them at the moment but might experiment with a little less. Roll on the summer!
  10. Hi, I've just been through a similar dilemma due to really not liking the Avon ZV3s. Have a read of this... https://www.lotus7.club/forum/techtalk/tyre-clearance-195-45-r15-195-50-r15 One important consideration is what tyres you're going put on ( profile in particular ) and if they'll foul the wing stays. Hope this helps.
  11. Thanks all. I went over to see fellow club member Chris near York and bought 4 gorgeous Compomotive CXRs with 175 55 r13 on the front and 205 55 r13 CR500s on the back. We "measured" ( by offering up a couple of planks of wood ) the clearance under the sump, then changed the wheels over and re-measured. The sump was indeed lower by approx 1cm ( 2.0L wet sump Duratec SupersportR ). Although I'm no racing driver, the lower ride height was immediately apparent, as was the brisker acceleration but the increase in grip was just astounding. The ride was also transformed. Far less jiggly - presumably the combination of bigger sidewalls and considerably lighter wheel & tyre combo. I knew the tyres would make a difference but wasn't prepared for the amount of difference. I am now more nervous about grounding it out so will be saving for a dry sump and chatting to other club members about fettling the ride height. Now though, I'll be able to "just" buy ZZSs albeit 185 55 r13 and 215 55 r13. Also need to re-calibrate the speedo, find some centre caps and no doubt a pile of other things... Have to say, Chris near York, lovely chap, lovely R400, great coffee and now I'm jealous of the Stack dash!
  12. Thanks both. What a palava! Who'd have thought. Now considering smaller wheels but this will mean lower ground clearance so now thinking of a dry sump kit... this is going to get expensive.
  13. Thanks. What would I replace the wing stays with? I'm presuming they're the biggest available as the wheels are 15 inch. Also where do you get the cr500s from? As they've stopped making them I'm presuming they're all now getting a bit old. I can't find any on tinterweb and they seem very rare to come up on here.
  14. /sites/default/files/images/users/40423/medium_IMG_0183.JPG I have a 40th anniversary Supersport R with Avon zv3 tryes which I want to upgrade but replacements are only really 195 50 r15 either avon zzs or toyo 888 has anyone done this? If they foul the wings stays then it seems I either use tyres that aren't as good or buy new wheels! As ever, any words of wisdom gratefully received.
  15. Hi, whereabouts are they? Thanks, m
  16. just been for a reasonable drive ( 30-40 miles ) and no issues other than the light coming on now and again. But as I said, if I reach down and squeeze thatr little connector, it goes out.
  17. Ignition on, engine not started = light on. Wiggling / sqeezing doesn't put it out. Engine running = intermittent light but a gentle squeeze puts it out. The wires look to all be green and white. I'm thinking the connector should crimp them all together but doesn't, hence thinking it needs nipping up.
  18. really appreciate your help. Have a photo of the culprit. If I squeeze it or wiggle it the light will go out and certain it's causing it. It's a little connector, in the photo, my finger is on the very end of it. Just wondering if it just needs nipping up?/sites/default/files/images/users/40423/DSC_0159.JPG
  19. update... cleaned the connector plug thingamybob on the back of the alternator. With the engine running, a few revs gives 14.3V across the battery and this continues even when the light is on. Wiggling some leads under the dash seems to get the light on and off, so presume that it's a wiring fault under the dash? It's sunny and want to take it out so going to risk it I think.... life's too short. Must remember to get some breakdown cover!
  20. Many thanks Jonathan, Lamp goes out as soon as it starts. Stays out when sat on the drive, comes on when driving. Belt seems OK. If the alternator is on the way out, would that explain the symptoms? About to go back out, jack it up again and seem if I can get that connector of and give it a clean.
  21. Hi, I have a 2014 Supersport R 2.0 duratec. Starts fine, battery seems to hold charge fine, start it up at home, tester across the batter terminals and rev it, volts go up to 13.5V (ish). Drive it down the road then the charge light flickers then come on constantly. I've checked various connections and all seem tight. Any clues? There's no squealing, so presume the belt is turning the alternator. Any help greatfuly received. Many thanks...
