Is the tank capacity on a modern S3 still 36 litres - 7.9 gallons ?
  2. NGKITR6F13 - iridium spark plugs as listed by Burton for Ford Duratec. £7.31 per plug .
  3. I think that the Ford TR6AP-13 is a platinum tipped plug with a set gap of 1.3 mm. The NGK BR7EFS is a conventional spark plug. NGK do an iridium plug for the Duratec- much better, but pricey!
  4. Saw Budgie perform with Ian Gillan at Lancaster university - Marshall amps and speakers set to 11! My 850 mini never sounded so quiet on the drive home. Could be handbrake cable chafing lightly on the A- frame
  5. I have seen this on Focus ( zetec) and Mondeo (duratec) that have Motorcraft spark plugs before. The Motorcraft plugs seem to rust in exactly the same place every time - just were the metal is the thinnest, resulting in a sheared plug. It is often on the first plug change the car has had. My solution has always been to fit NGK spark pugs, they seem to have a thicker jacket and resist corrosion better. I always put the water ingress down to valeters being over enthusiastic- in conventional cars that is

    HPC BDR

Thanks Matt- glad the badge arrived safely and yes it will just finish your car off a treat. On the subject of the HPC grill badge I have for my badge a plastic cover which was issued with the badge which clips over so as to when another person might drive your car but has not completed the course they are prohibited from displaying the HPC logo - strange or what! As your car and mine are only one digit apart in engine numbers and very close on the VIN I think you may find that £11000 was after the £3000 deposit they took off you part way through the build. I stood on the 1986 motor show stand were the new HPC BDR was shown for the first time and picked up the leaflet which i can email you a copy of if you want ? It was true also that they would not sell you one until you had been on the course! ps send me some photos of it and the JPE please

    HPC BDR

This was the same car. It was advertised by Nick the owner in july 2015 for £32000 on pistonheads .He then lowered the price to £29950. He advertised it for £27950 about 3 weeks ago on Car and Classic. He then sent it to Sevens and Classics and it was advertised at £24995. I never saw this car advertised for £20k and i know Nick turned down an initial offer of £25000 in July 2015. A black and ali BDR HPC with flares was sold by Steve Phillips Car Sales of Wigan was sold on Ebay in February 2015 for £27500. I think Matthew has bagged himself a bargain! With regards the price in 1988 my car with most of the option list ticked was £14400. Just to give you an idea of how expensive these cars were - when introduced in 1986 they were £13384 . A whale tail 3dr Sierra Cosworth was £15950 in standard trim. Probably the reason why they only made 62 of the HPC BDR.
  8. Hi Nick does the herald rack have a grease point like the rack on a TR6. On the TR6 rack you remove a small hex headed threaded plug , insert a large threaded grease nipple and give it a few squirts . This may remove the 10% of free play left. Regards James
