  1. Thats interesting, I fitted a mechanical Stack gauge last week, worked ok for a couple of days, and now 'sticks', and shows the same pressure at tickover, [too high at 50 psi] and a bit low at 3000 rpm, [55] but again, needs a tap to move the needle, did they make up a pipe for you? Mine went through the gear lever.
  2. ordered one from merlin but with a stack gauge after your comments and with a copper washer. Will fit after I replace the Heater Matrix which sprang a leak yesterday. New one ordered.
  3. I just bought a new plastic one, I was that close to ordering the aly one, oh well. hope I dont regret it. .
  4. There was an aluminium one on ebay for about £65 that should solve your problem OVERSPORT mgrover K series cast aluminium thermostat housing
  5. If its any help I have spent weeks and ££ trying to sort my k 1.8 temperature problems, Thermostat, sender, new hoses and finally resolved with a new expansion bottle top. at £8 it was a cheap fix
  6. Yes please please send me payment details
  7. Since posting this I have replaced the temperature sender and fitted a new 82 degree thermostat with a 2 mm hole drilled. [the previous thermostat was 82 degrees but not drilled.] The car does seem to take more time to warm up but so far settles around the 80 degree mark. What does concern me a bit is the routing of the pipe from the thermostat housing to the heater. It seems to rub against the stay that is bolted from the bottom of the engine to the inlet.Tbh I cant remember how it was before I fitted the new thermostat but I cant see an alternative route. Is this normal or have I done anything wrong. Thanks in advance /sites/default/files/images/users/14491/caterham%20hose.JPG

  9. It seems too warm up to 90 ish even on a motorway. There is no sign of water leaks or contaminated watert
  10. My manual says the ideal temperature is 70-80, but the recommended thermostat is 88 degrees. my water temp shows about 90 but steady Could someone clarify for me please
  11. Caterham sent it to me in its original packing which says its for a metric SV made by oxted and quotes their Purchase order. Caterham say that there is no difference between the metric and imperial hood. According to Oxted it was made in 2008 and they are unwilling to alter it, I would have paid. I will talk to Caterham next week about a return.
  12. /sites/default/files/images/users/14491/2hoods.jpg This is the old hood over the new hood at the sidescreen part. You can see the new hood with the white piping is smaller than the original hood so I think it need to go to caterham to see what they say. I do have a half hood but I find the full hood usefull if leaving the car outside on some occasions. Thanks for everyones input. Its really nice to have such knowledgeable people to call on , It wont be the last time I expect.
  13. /sites/default/files/images/users/14491/Car.jpg This is the old hood which fits fine
  14. Thank you Jonathan The original hood does fit, although a bit tight to put on
  15. I have been trying to post a photo with little success. I get a little box up that says paste using ctrl V but nothing happens re the roll bar, the hood came with poppers fitted except the front one nearest the side screen. The stretch therefore must be between the front popper, and the one behind it. The roll bar according to the build order is a series 5 de dion and the hood is a series 5
  16. Hello everyone, This is my first post here. I have a 2003 Roadsport 1.8 K series. I recently bought a new hood from Caterham that they were advertising on e bay, which I got for a very good price. Unfortunately, when fitted, there is a gap between the back of the side screen, No matter how hard I pull, hair dryers, hot water bottle, pliers, I cant stretch the hood further forward so get a gap between the hood and the side screen. Does anyone have any suggestions. Thank you. /sites/default/files/images/users/14491/caterham%20hood.jpg
