  1. Saw the one on eBay, only after the T bar
  2. Thanks Clive, look forward to hearing back from you.PM me if you find one
  3. Does anyone have a spare wheel bolt with "T" Handle they no longer require. Thanks
  4. I have used a low entry walk through scissor lift for the last 3 years and found it to be ideal- however all the sports cars I have had I have found it necessary to use spreader bars to pick up the jacking points.
  5. I can confirm it is a CKD kit a supplied by Caterham - I hold the original invoice. It is a Long Cockpit Chassis. So where does that leave things, maybe the pedal box cover was just never fitted as for the wiring well who knows.
  6. Thanks Andrew I do have a level switch at the base of the M/C but it only has one spade connector, my exiting wiring which I assume was meant to connect to the switch (a light brown and a black and white cable) both go to earth so I don't understand how it would work anyway. The brake test switch works fine. Out of interest I checked out the IVA requirements and a low brake fluid cap on the M/C is not necessary providing you can see the fluid level in the reservoir. I see you raised a similar concern in Sept this year and the solution if a new master cylinder is required is to replace with the current style and modify the pipework by the insertion of a 3 way union into front brake pipes. On checking the dimensions of both master cylinder outlets to the flange mounting face (old and new M/C)) they are the same so no major pipework alterations would be required. Is yours fitted with a pedal box?
  7. I have recently bought myself a 1994 Classic SE live axle and comparing the brake master cylinder with that on my K Series I notice there is a significant difference in the brake master cylinders, the classic has three fluid outlets on the main body and the size of the reservoir will not support a low fluid level cap. ( unlike the K Series which has two outlets and is fitted with a low fluid level cap) The Classic has the wiring terminals to support the low fluid level cap. Is this master cylinder specific to the Classic and does anyone know of its direct replacement, although a 94 car it was not built and registered until 2007 following SVA Test. Did the Classic not require a low fluid level cap to be fitted at the time of test - could it be possible that the master cylinder fluid reservoir has been replaced? Also no Pedal Box has ever been fitted was this a standard fitting? The car was supplied by Caterham as a KCD Kit. I have no problems with the car I just like to know how the car should be.
  8. Given he upright/hub carrier is Triumph it's fair to assume?? a Triumph ball joint- however how do you replace it-is it even possible. Has anyone ever replaced the ball joint and if so how.
  9. With the single top link suspension the ball joint appears to be an integral part of the link. Am I correct in assuming that if the ball joint wear is excessive a complete new top link is required? or is there a modification - I understand new links are no longer produced although Chris a Redline may hold a stock. Could be an expensive job for the sake of a ball joint.
  10. Just fitted the Lower Wishbone and ARB Y9 bushes (Caterham supplied), not a difficult task apart from getting the lower wishbone out of its rather tight enclosure and even more difficult task of getting it back in with the new bushes fitted. I agree with Elie beware of where you buy your bushes- the Caterham supplied units are not expensive anyway
  11. All sorted by Tony Mills at Caterham Cars. Replacement bushes (Y9) on the way. Great service
  12. Thanks Ian. Caterham also now stock them for their new 1600 Super Seven I was hoping to find a good used set (wishful thinking) Is there not a compatible part out there already bent?
  13. I have ordered from Caterham and received (8) Y16 bushes to replace the above and find that on stripping down the units Y9 bushes are fitted. I went for the Y16 because these are stated as being specific to the live axle cars. The Y16 are a shorter bush than the Y9. What should I do????
  14. Thanks to all. Exactly what I was looking for.
  15. Can someone help me with regards to the timing mark graduations on the right hand side of the engine block (facing engine) I can see the marks which are highlighted in white what I want to know is what the graduations are in respect of degrees before TDC. Facing the engine and moving in a clockwise direction what are the graduations and what do the represent. No simple diagram in any of the build manuals.
  16. Thanks Geoff I also have a 1800 K series so the information is appreciated
  17. Thanks Guys Roger is the engine guru and I take on board his knowledge, you pay your money and take the choice at least I know the views of X/Flow guys
  18. I missing one of the alloy caps as well if anyone has one lying around for sale
  19. What is the oil of choice by X/Flow owners. I understand 15W/40 as the grade and that fully synthetic is out. Are we looking at a standard mineral oil or is part synthetic acceptable?
  20. A good job for the winter if and when the car comes off the road
  21. I will check out metalistic or or Y9 although looking at them showing perished rubber I would think Y9.
