  1. That's good to know thanks
  2. I looked for an alternative to the 185/55R13 ZZS last year but alternatives seem to be 185/60 which I suspected may not clear the cycle wings and wingstays on my 2013 Supersport - the top of the tyre is already quite close to the cycle wings on 185/55.
  3. An update to my previous post since there is now a new thread on speedo issues. I installed the Earth mod and it made no difference to me. I then measured the gap for the sensor and it was only 0.78mm. The LED flashed so suggested it worked at this gap. I increased the gap to 1.07mm and the speedo is working all the time.
  4. I had similar problems when the outside temperature was above approx 22C. Below that temperature it worked faultlessly. Checking the sensor and it flashed perfectly. When I measured the gap it was 0.78mm. I moved it out a little and now the gap is 1.07mm and I've had no problem
  5. My option is about as simple as it can be. It does require a carpeted tunnel as it consists of only a strip of the hook part of velcro. The phone also needs to be landscape but the advantage is that the display is usually out of sunlight so can be seen easier. All I do is tuck the phone case under a long strip of velcro which attaches to the carpet each side of the tunnel.
  6. BrianD - Has started working again? John Vine in the previous post could be correct with the Earth Mod being required. My 2014 Supersport speedo does the same but only on hot days. It then works flawlessly until the next hot day. I've got the stuff for the earth mod but have yet to fit it. Before you buy a new sensor it might be worth checking to see if it has started working again
  7. Hi Nigel, Interesting, I've had problems with heat. My speedo is accurate and I've never had problems until the hottest days of last summer when after a few miles it would bounce around for a few minutes then just stop reading. It has worked perfectly since so I'm putting it down to the heat. I've ordered the extra ground as detailed in your link above but have not got round to fitting it yet as hot days are not normally an issue in Scotland!
  8. Is the car new? I realise it's not the same engine but my Sigma 140 Supersport would not idle when cold after I built it and Caterham said it needed an ECU map update. It has been fine since they did the update. Why they didn't supply the ECU with the correct map in the first place is another story. Maybe you have a similar issue
  9. I've done this several times and my CTEK and Optimate won't touch the battery. To get round it I connect it to a spare battery via jump leads for 30 minutes. The CTEK then charges it with no problems. I'm not sure if this is a dodgy method but it works for me! If there are issues with this then please somebody tell me.
  10. Thanks, they are just up the road from me but even collecting from them and saving delivery costs they significantly more than Caterham. I've now ordered 4 new tyres from Caterham.
  11. Thanks for the replies. E tyres don't work in my area unfortunately. I'll give Wheels Around a ring and see what prices and whether they can fit during the weekend. Someone who can just deliver the tyres to me would be preferable as I can just get my local mechanic to do the fitting.
  12. I need to replace my 13" CR500s probably with ZZS. Apart from Caterham and Demon Tweeks, where do people get tyres from? I live in Scotland so they must be mail order to fit myself. Thanks.

    car cover

I use a softbits showercap to keep the interior dust free and also have a dehumidifier to help with any dampness. I'm afraid I don't cover the entire car so can't help except I've noticed an indoor cover recently on the caterhamparts website
  14. Someone on the forum suggested one of these: http://www.halfords.com/motoring/car-accessories/car-seat-covers-cushions/halfords-padded-seat-cushion-back-support I bought one and both my wife and son prefer it fitted to my leather seats. I initially bought it to help my wife reach the pedals when driving but it's now pretty much permanantly fitted to the passenger seat. It raises and brings them forward about an inch.
  15. I'm no expert but agree with those who state that the suspension is too soft. I've measured my lowered floor and that is also just over 9cm above the road and the seat bolts are probably only 8cm. I've had problems wih some speed bumps catching the seat bolts when there is only me in the car. Even two up I've never grounded in normal driving and that includes one local road where I'm regularly airborne.
