  1. Hi, If you haven't got a manual for the engine there is an online version here :- http://barnblinker.com/index.php/tag/rs-1600/ Brian.
  2. I'm not getting either a spark or any fuel from the injectors. This could indicate a failing crank sensor. I had one on an old Corsa that played up occasionally , then worked perfectly for a few weeks before acting up again.. Unfortunately the car was not OBD compliant so I had to work out what was going wrong the old fashioned way...... Is Emerald OBD compliant? If not it might be worth testing your sensor (or just fit a new sensor for what they cost) Brian.
  3. Hi Gordon, do you want new springs or would used be acceptable? Brian.
  4. 1990 Manual states that factory produced cars have the badges fitted between the rear lights and the reversing lights. No dimensions given... Here's mine Brian.
  5. Hi Stephen , It would be easier for me if you took them all. Will PM with details. Brian.
  6. Due to impending house move I have to reduce the amount of 'junk' that is cluttering up the spare bedroom, so I have my collection of lowflying mags available for a donation to the club charity..would prefer that they go as one lot. All issues from September 1990 to December 2018 , except Nov 92 (suspect there wasn't one issued), Nov 14 & April 18 both AWOL , no idea why.... Collection only please. Located close to M1 Jn 29 Chesterfield Brian.
  7. According to the Rover manual that is part of the Elise manual , spring goes into the housing as shown in the attached pdf (which you may or may not be able to view!) Brian. IMG_1.pdf

In 35 years of running Lotus twincams I've never had a problem with circlips escaping. You do have to make sure that they are fully seated and fitted the correct way round.
  9. I've tried internet explorer and all I get is a box with a cross through it ( more than edge shows!), so we tried a mobile phone and get a small box that we cannot open up to show the pdf's. Brian. Looks like I can post pictures though.
  10. Hi Jonathan, I've just tried to send a pm but your mail box is full. To answer your question Windows 10 (updated a few days ago) and Microsoft Edge. I cannot see the pdf that I have apparently posted! Brian.
  11. Hi Jonathan, my computer is not displaying the picture that you have posted in #2... and having scanned the page from my build manual I appear unable to post a pdf.. Brian. IMG_2.pdf IMG_3.pdf
  12. I would have thought that the temperature sensor should be in the cylinder head in the hole provided by Ford. 1990 manual shows it in this position and the fan switch in the ally thermostat tower. Brian. edited to add:- there is no provision on my radiator to fit any sensors...
  13. Looks like it's just the two of us then! Brian.
  14. You can sit down Jim , you've remembered it right! One thing to be aware of if removing the top cover of the main gearcase are the three detent springs that will probably attempt to dive into the box.. sliding a sheet of paper or thin card between the cover and case can help prevent this. The selector fork retaining bolts should be lockwired to stop them loosening off. One other possibility is the mainshaft locknut coming loose. Does the gearlever move to the same position that it used to or is its movement being restricted by something? Brian.
