Urgently Calling Jackal or Mick Attree

Jackal/Mick,

I've got my SVA booked next week and have run into a last minute serious problem. I have the up and over minister style exhaust primaries you used fitted tpo my car. I've just tried to fit the Raceline catalyst silencer to my car and discovered it's touching the side panel of the car.

I suspect the primaries are too short (probably need an extra 3cm in the horizontal section straight out of the head). Could you tell me the clearance between the end of the primaries and the side skin (i.e the end that goes into the collector)? I think mine is about 2cm which just isn't enough *mad*

cheers,

Mike.

Jackal,

Thanks for the response but no I meant the distance between the inner primary and the body skin on the outside of the car (where the 4 primaries go into the collector)

cheers,

Thanks guys.

Raceline/Cheesemans have pulled the rabit out of the hat by providing a temporary collector and modifying Racelines Catalyst silencer which they have lent me for SVA - so I'm on again for SVA one week today *thumbup*

Apparently the issue is with the primaries being too close to the bodies outer skin. On a Minister/Mick Attree/Caterham Cars( 😳 😬) setup the inner primary is 3.5cm from the side skin. You then have a collector and longer pipe bending away from the body before going into your R300/400/500( 🤔) style silencer. The Raceline inner primary should be 8.5 cm from the side skin. This then goes into a collector which then goes straight into a big (longer and quieter?) silencer.

Unfortunately it looks like Cheesemans modified the Raceline jig (to make a development exhaust for a 2.3l Duratec a certain unnamed specialist sportscar manuafacturer are testing at the moment) and then used this to (incorrectly) manufacture my (bigger bore) primaries.

BTW Mick - I've been meaning to ask you where I can source 'Duratec R' stickers the same as the ones you put on Jackals car 🤔

Is your son at CC on Monday as my cars going in for it's PBC and then CC are keeping it until Thursdays as they're going to send it to SVA on my behalf.

cheers,

Mike.
