Jan T
How do I get the pins out that hold the pads in place? My previous 7 had an allen key jobbie but there is none on these 2003 big brakes Any help appreciated. Thanks Jan
Mr Locust
Jan Drift out the pins with a pin punch from the wheel side. They have a spring retainer 'ball' on the inner end to hold them in place. Note the special Caterham joke which means you have to unbolt the caliper mounting bolts as well to remove the top pin due to the top pin fouling the wing stay on a cycle wing car. Jan T
Thanks. We will be attempting this in a few weeks and this advice will be very helpful. Thanks again. Jan
rgrigsby
If they are the same as mine one of the pins is in line with the cycle wing stay so you need to loosen one of the caliper bolts and tilt the caliper slightly to get the pin out. mav
I have covered very nearly 19000 miles, of which about 3000 will be attributable to track. And before you say i'm a wuss on the brakes - you best ask some of the other people on the trackdays I attend what i'm like on the brakes.

Jan T
Mav Front pads are fine. Rears are OK but have a few heat cracks(?) and might change them. The main purpose of the query was curiosity as the chum asisting me was a little foxed by the unfamiliar design. Thanks for everyone's input. Jan PS don't want to be caught short at BH GP on June 7th as I was previously. Edited by - Jan T on 10 May 2004 07:05:
